Pursuing Positivity
As though there aren’t already enough words and expressions in the English language, it seems like people are ever coming up with new ones. Take, for example, the word “positivity”. Merriam-Dictionary online includes in its definition of positivity, “the quality or state of being positive”. Though I don’t recall ever hearing the word “positivity” used in relation to the Lord, I can’t think of a better way to pursue and practice positivity than to make Thanksgiving to God and praise, adoration, and worship of Him a fundamental part of our everyday lives. Now that’s positivity, isn’t it?
When we focus on the Lord, and on His character, and His attributes, as well as His works, along with His goodness in our lives, on everything from how He created the world to what He shows us in the Bible He has planned for the new heavens and the new earth, and on and on, how can we not be positive?
I would imagine many people seeking positivity in their lives are looking in this world for something or someone to make them think positively, feel positive, and act in a positive manner. Oh, sure, they may find bits and pieces of “positivity”. But let us look to the Lord, and to His Word, and thank and praise Him for all the ways in which He blesses us with “positivity” in our hearts and lives!
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
May the Lord and the Bible and His promises and blessings and most of all His love and the promise to His followers of everlasting life with Him be the greatest positivity in our hearts and lives – and our #1 reason for Thanksgiving! May we be thankful for Him and to Him above all and everyone else, Hallelujah! Pursuing positivity? Craving it? Need it? Want it? Turn to the Lord – and be thankful!
