Rejoice & Be Glad!

Rejoice and be glad? Yes, rejoice and be glad! Well, what if you don’t feel like rejoicing and being glad today? What if I’m not in the mood for rejoicing and being glad today? What if life isn’t going our way on this particular day? We’re supposed to rejoice and be glad anyway? Read what the psalmist says:

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24

Please pay attention to the word “WILL”. He writes, “we will rejoice and be glad in it.” In what? In this day. Is this contingent on how we feel, what’s going on in our lives, our circumstances, our struggles and obstacles? Why, no! The word “WILL” implies that we should CHOOSE to rejoice and be glad! We should DECIDE to rejoice and be glad! In this 24-hour period, we absolutely should REJOICE and BE GLAD! But if this rejoicing and gladness aren’t contingent on what we face and how we feel in a given day, on what should they be contingent? ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, my friend! On Him!

I hope you will open your Bible and read all of Psalms 118 and see some of the reasons we should rejoice and be glad in the Lord today and every day! But friend, no matter what trials we face in this life, there are endless reasons to rejoice and be glad when we set our eyes and hearts upon the Lord and on His Word. Beginning with the Lord Himself! And with His Holy Spirit! And with the Bible! And with His countless blessings!

Oh, rejoice! Be glad! This very day! And forevermore! Look to the Lord and to His Word and celebrate His love, His beauty, His amazingness, His awesomeness, His lordship, His sovereignty, His power, His grace, His mercy, His peace, His joy, His hope, His goodness, His salvation, His greatness, His light, His death and resurrection, His forgiveness, His mercy, His fellowship with His followers, His friendship, His strength, His wisdom, His guidance, His compassion, His comfort, His counsel, His tenderness, His healing, His freedom, His miracles, His care, His tenderness, His lovingkindness, His patience with us, and on and on the reason to rejoice and be glad go! Each and every day, oh yes, let us be rejoice and be glad IN THE LORD! Oh, yes! Hallelujah!

Oh, rejoice! Be glad! In Christ! Amen! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord! Amen!
