I have been running most of my life from something very painful in the past. I have run in all sorts of ways. Sometimes conscious of the running, oftentimes unconscious of it. But running, running, running. Hoping somehow if I run fast enough and far enough away I can undo what happened to me. Never successfully, of course. Running from truth never undoes truth. The most it can do is make us avoid truth. But the truth remains.
Running myself ragged and wearing myself out, yes I have done this. Then by the mercy of Christ, at times when I am out of breath from it all, He reminds me that what I need isn’t a running from but instead a running to. Into the precious strong healing comforting and restoring merciful sheltering trustworthy compassionate arms of my beloved Jesus.
Jesus who is my refuge. Who will not undo what was already done but who will carry me as my loving merciful Father day by day until the moment I leave behind this earth and its trials and tears and enter into the endless joy of forever with Him where no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no disease, no sadness, no abuse, no trauma, no tragedy, nothing bad at all will ever be. Through faith in Him. As Lord. As Savior. Believing in His death and resurrection.
Heaven. Perfect bliss, perfect blessedness with Jesus. For those who turn from their wickedness on this earth and turn to Him as Lord. Living and breathing for Him. Living to love and to glorify Him. Finding refuge in Him here on this earth. Then forevermore with Jesus. Heaven. Everlasting joy and refuge. With Christ.
Are you hurting, friend? Struggling? Broken? Crying? Running? Run to Jesus, dear one. May He be your refuge and sweet blessed Father, Lord, Savior, comforter, healer, and friend – now and forevermore!
Lord, take my trials, tears, take my running and testimony, take my heart and messages you give me, and use it all to draw people all over this world into your forever and ever loving, merciful, joyful, healing, comforting, everlasting splendorous fold, AMEN!
