Not quite fully awake, making my morning Smoothie, I suddenly noticed the words of the little made-up song I was singing aloud to God. In my grogginess, I had not even been paying attention to the words pouring forth from my mouth. Now I did.
“You are so beautiful and kind, Lord, you are so beautiful and kind,” I sang.
Isn’t it something how we tend to think of beauty as it pertains to people, places, and things? And how we usually think of kindness as it pertains to others being kind or unkind? And perhaps concerning whether we have been kind or fallen short in being kind?
But how often do we stop in the busyness and distractions of our lives and turn our gaze upward to the Lord to behold His beauty and to experience and enjoy and praise Him for His amazing lovingkindness?
How consumed we tend to become with our own little lives and our circumstances and the world around us. How blessed we are and how much pleasure and glory we must bring the Lord Jesus Christ when we turn our hearts and eyes upward to rejoice in the love and beauty and kindness and hope and glory and majesty and splendor of God almighty!
“One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.” Psalms 27:4 NKJV
“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.” Psalms 63:3 NKJV
