The Ultimate Excitement

0

Now if I look back on my life, I can think of many things that I was convinced would be exciting and fulfilling and that – and whom, to be honest – I chased high speed after. But never in a million years would I have expected to discover what I now know is the ultimate excitement.

Imagine my surprise when after decades of living for self with the ultimate goal of finding love, comfort, pleasure, satisfaction, security, safety, and all that and whom I wanted I woke up one morning to write this prayer to the Lord:

“Thank you Father! For a new day! Great mood this morning, excited for new day, can’t wait to love and serve you! Wow, how times have changed! In past it would have been can’t wait to be loved and to be served!”

Friend, though I could not see it at the time, I lived the way this world teaches us to live. For self. And, above all else, I wanted to be loved and to be served. I wanted my expectations, plans, dreams, goals, agendas, etc. to be met and fulfilled. I saw nothing wrong with this, mind you. After all, I lived according to the world’s ways. The way of self, to be precise.

The Lord in His love, grace, kindness, mercy, and long-suffering has dredged up and out of me my desire to live for me and replaced it with a desire to live for Him. Now, my number one goal in life is to love and serve the Lord with all my heart and in loving and serving others to help them to do the same!

You know, I never was satisfied living the way I used to live. Any excitement I experienced was temporary and ended up ultimately in disappointment. Today, I can honestly think of nothing more exciting and thrilling and fulfilling in the universe than to believe in, know, love, serve, experience, enjoy, belong to, praise, honor, adore, worship, revere, fear, obey, live for, seek, pray to, listen for, wait on, hear, follow, and glorify the Lord!

What, or whom, brings you more excitement and fulfillment than anything or anyone else? Is it Jesus? Oh, may it be so! If this is not so, please pray your heart out to the Lord! Please seek the Lord with every ounce of your heart! Please surrender absolutely all to the Lord once and for all! Please make the very moment you are reading this a new beginning! Give the Lord absolutely all! Let nothing be more exciting to you in the whole wide world than THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and than devoting yourself to Him 100% now and forever, AMEN!

Please note how the psalmist is so exceedingly in love with and devoted to and longing for the Lord! Let this be so with us, oh yes!

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” Psalm 42:1-2

And note what Jesus Himself said when it comes to serving versus being served!

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”” Mark 10:45
