This World is a MESS!
“For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” Isaiah 3:8-12 underlining added
This world is falling apart at the seams. It’s going downhill fast, isn’t it? Just look at the news. One awful news story says it all, doesn’t it? But then there are so many. One awful news story after another. Evil upon evil. Tragedy upon tragedy. Never-ending. Just when it looks like it can’t get any more awful, it becomes more awful still. Countless stories of unspeakable atrocities. Worldwide. For many, right in their own lives. In their own homes. Their own families. Their own schools. And jobs. Everywhere evil abounds. Just like the Bible says would happen, it’s happening. As the world draws to a close, as the pathway to the ultimate forever reign of Jesus Christ unfolds, just as the Bible says it will do. So why do we look around shocked at what’s happening? And why do we wonder why it’s happening? Why, most importantly for each and every one of us, will we not look at our own part in all this? What part are we playing? Whose side are we on? Are we each of us as individuals contributing to the demise of this world, or are we helping to bring about the ultimate eternal Kingdom of the Lord?
Look at America. Look at the world. Look at Jerusalem and Judah in the book of Isaiah. Why were they in dire straits? “…because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD.” Are you living your life daily FOR God or AGAINST God? Speaking FOR Him or AGAINST Him? Before we point the finger any further at the evil abounding in this world, we need to look in the mirror. This world is perishing for only ONE reason. Countless people are living with their mouths, hearts, backs, and lives turned against God. The verses above make clear political leaders not living for Christ lead our nations into dire straits, but we each have our own responsibility to believe in and follow Jesus Christ as Lord no matter what leaders say and do. We were created to follow God, not man. Even as the world worsens, we must turn to the Lord and follow Him.
Which way are you turned? There is no middle of the road. Are your words and actions glorifying God?
