Those Prideful Thoughts!

0

Those thoughts matter. Know what I’m referring to? Those prideful thoughts. Let me explain. Pride is NOT merely when we say and do things with arrogance and make ourselves out to be better and superior and more wonderful and more successful and more experienced and more anything and everything than others! Pride is ALSO when we have THOUGHTS in which we LIFT OURSELVES UP as BETTER THAN and PUT AND SHOVE OTHERS DOWN as less than and worse than, etc. When we lift ourselves up arrogantly in any way, even in thought, whether over others or in general or even over God worst of all, this is ALL pride!

Friend, GOD DESPISES ALL PRIDE. EVERY SINGLE OUNCE OF PRIDE. PRIDE IN OUR ACTIONS. PRIDE IN OUR WORDS. PRIDE IN OUR THOUGHTS. Did you know prideful thoughts are an ABOMINATION to God?

“Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD;…” Proverbs 16:5

Pride is sin. Pride is ungodly, unholy, unrighteous, wrong, and needing to be purged from our minds, hearts, mouths, and lives! We MUST repent when we spot even an ounce of pride. When the Holy Spirit of God brings pride to our attention – yes, EVEN IN OUR THOUGHTS – ALL the pride MUST GO! Immediately!

I wish I could tell you I never fall into pride. That all my actions are humble. That all my words are humble. That all my thoughts are humble. But I am just as much in need of repentance, purifying myself, and purging pride from my actions, words, AND THOUGHTS as anyone else if not more so! I have an ongoing need to purify myself as we all do!

I have begged the Lord over and again to show me every single time a prideful thought so much as rears its ugly head for an instant and to lead me swiftly and mercifully to repentance! Prideful words and actions, too, I absolutely want to get rid of. I want ALL PRIDE to be GONE because I want to love and honor and please God almighty! So it is I learn to humble myself before God almighty and before others as we all must do!

God will bring down the prideful! He will take down those who exalt themselves! He will tear down the arrogant! He will deal with us – right down to our every thought when it does not bring Him love, honor, praise, and glory. And pride most assuredly does not glorify God! It does anything and everything but! He will also raise up and bless and honor the humble! Oh, let us repent of pride and humble ourselves!

I beg you to obliterate every ounce of pride from every aspect of your life – THOUGHTS INCLUDED – as often as is necessary. I beg you to purify yourself continually, to humble yourself before God almighty moment by moment, and to love and magnify and exalt and lift up and glorify the one who is worthy of all love and adoration forever and ever – the Lord, the Lord, the Lord! Amen!

We are to humble ourselves, friend, and to raise up the Lord in our thoughts, words, and actions. He is worthy! He is worthy! He is worthy of being lifted up over all the earth, over all the world, over all of humanity, over all the universe! Jesus Christ is Lord forever and ever, oh, glorify the Lord!

May these verses that follow be an encouragement to you to do as the Lord calls us to do. Oh, may we humble ourselves before God almighty!

“You will save the humble people; But Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.” 2 Samuel 22:28

“The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.” Psalm 147:6

“The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.” Exodus 15:2

I encourage you to consider PRIDE sometimes disguises itself in such a way it doesn’t seem or look or even necessarily feel like pride. Not to mention our flesh would love to convince ourselves our pride is not pride. Rest assured the Lord knows what is pride! We can trust His Holy Spirit to bring to light any and all pride in our actions, words, and THOUGHTS! May we repent of it when He does and humble ourselves before God almighty!

Pride, be gone! Lord, have mercy upon us all. Teach us to humble ourselves before you – continually. Let us magnify you, oh Lord, and humble ourselves continually in your sight, my God! Amen!

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10
