“I am going to wait until I’m clear!” I thought.
For days I had been thinking about doing something I felt was the Lord’s will. But then I would waver. Truth is I wasn’t totally clear. May have been God leading me. Could have been the devil tempting me and trying to distract me. Or even my flesh doing its usual wandering in one direction then another not staying focused like I need to be.
I have a long history of acting impulsively. Including hurrying forward to do something I convinced myself was God’s will when in fact I didn’t continue to pray and wait on Him until I was truly clear. Time and again I have been chastened by God and led to repentance. Oh, if only I had patiently waited!
I am learning to wait on the Lord. I encourage you to do the same. He wants us to do His will so most assuredly He will make clear His will IN HIS TIME so we can obey Him.
God will give wisdom to those who ask in faith for it. Let us pray to God – and wait. Until we’re clear. Then let us humble ourselves and follow Him forth!
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 NKJV
