When Doors Are CLOSED

What should you do if you have prayed big and hard and are clear God is sending you in a certain direction in life and it seems one door after another of what you thought would be opportunities are shut whereby you can’t seem to get anywhere on the pathway you believe the Lord has set before you? Quit, right? Wrong! Press on!

Friend, we shouldn’t be surprised when we face challenges when we’re humbly and faithfully following the Lord and His will for our lives. Coming across lots of closed doors and facing one obstacle after another DOES NOT mean we are not in God’s will. It also DOES NOT mean we should quit. What we SHOULD DO is continue to pray, keep humbling ourselves before God and following Him, operate in His strength, reach out to fellow Christ followers to love, support, pray for, and encourage us as the Lord leads, and be committed to persevere IN OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD.

Is this message for you? It sure is for me. Probably for lots of us, in fact. The Bible makes abundantly clear that following Jesus is NOT without trials, tribulations, obstacles, challenges, hurdles, and closed doors along the way. The Bible also makes abundantly clear the way to victory is in and through the Lord Jesus Christ and comes when we keep walking down the pathway He sets before us. Filled with, led by, and empowered by His Holy Spirit as we persevere in fulfilling God’s will for our lives!

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,” Ephesians 3:14-16
