“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” Hebrews 11:8 KJV
When I land in a place where God has not called me, regardless the reason, I need to repent and go where He is calling. But when I arrive in a place where He indeed has led me, I need to listen for His voice and follow His directions.
God has led me to a new place, and I am hungrily listening to Him speak. He has surprised me with His first direction. Rest, He has told me. Over and again. God knows what He is doing. He knows why He wants me to rest. I imagine He wants to do a healing work in me. But I know just as well that He is preparing me for something big and beautiful. I have resisted the rest; I have even rebelled against it. At last, I have repented.
I have learned in my walk with the Lord that when everything is new, the very best thing to do is listen, trust and obey. So here I am in the land of the new – listening, learning to trust, and choosing to obey.
Everything is new. But even in this land of unfamiliar, there is a constant – the Rock on which I stand.
