Where Should I Go God?

“Where do you want me?” I asked the Lord as I flopped face down onto my hotel room bed in south Florida about 1.5 weeks after arriving at my latest destination on the road full-time for Jesus with my handicapped ministry dogs.

The Holy Spirit answered immediately.

His answer was simple. Blunt. And so powerful.

“In me,” He replied.

How do you know when the voice you hear inside is from God? God ONLY and ALWAYS speaks in line with the Bible.

I knew what God was telling me, and what through me I believe He is now telling you.

I have spent so much time over the years praying to God for His will in life and ministry very much including where He wants me to go geographically as I continue being on the road full-time for Him, where He wants me to go day by day to do the ministry work to which He has called me, and simply where He wants me to go in life as I seek to love, honor, please, praise, worship, serve, adore, and glorify Him. I strive day by day to be surrendered to Christ, so seeking and following the Lord in all this is crucial.

What was God telling me when He said, “In me”? Jesus tells His followers to ABIDE in Him. That we are to BEAR FRUIT to GLORIFY GOD through ABIDING IN CHRIST. In plain English, to trust in Him, to rest in Him, to look to Him, to live for Him, to delight in Him, to fellowship with Him, to commune with Him, to pray to Him, to listen to Him, to hear Him, to obey Him, to lean back on Him, to rejoice in Him, to enjoy Him, to experience Him, to learn from Him, to learn of Him, to read the Bible, to grow closer to Him, to praise and worship Him, to find comfort in Him, to find joy in Him, to get wisdom from Him, to live through Him, to find strength in Him, to be set free by Him, to be healed by Him, to be made whole by Him, to find power in Him, etc.

I am a passionate, energetic, fast-paced go-getter by nature. So my natural tendency is to think the Lord wants me to DO, DO, DO for Him and to GO, GO, GO in my DOING. So I am inclined to ask the Lord where He wants me to GO NEXT. What He wants me to DO NEXT. And if I’m not careful, I get my priorities out of order and I find myself running off in the flesh apart from God rather than ABIDING IN JESUS and yielding to the Spirit of Christ as He lives in and through me.

Is this message just for me? I do not believe so. If you are reading this, it is my great hope the Lord will speak through the words I have written to your own heart.

Are you abiding in Jesus? Turn from your sins, believe He is Lord, believe in His death and resurrection, truly dedicate your life to God and His ways, receive God’s forgiveness, the promise of everlasting life, and the indwelling of His Spirit, and learn day by day as He is teaching me to ABIDE IN JESUS. For the glory of Christ, oh yes! Amen!

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:4-8

“”As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. ”” John 15:9-11

“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.” 1 John 2:24-28
