I was daydreaming. Again. Like I so often do. About this and that. Including locations. And about where I DID NOT want to go. Then I told Jesus this:
“I’ll go wherever you send me,” I said simply.
Some say I live an intriguing life. They are not accustomed in modern day America to seeing someone turn away from the American dream, give up a luxurious life, and forsake all to fully follow Jesus. I didn’t used to be this way. I was one of those believers in Jesus who told lots of people I believed – but lived for me and not Christ. It’s the other way around now. Now I live for Him and not me.
So I am willing to go where He sends me. And I do even when I don’t want to go where He leads me. I do this for two reasons, friend. First. Jesus Christ is Lord. Period. Second. I love the Lord with all my heart and live utterly for Him. I follow Jesus with all my heart because He is God and because I love Him beyond imagination.
Will you go wherever He sends you? Will you live wholly for Him? Please, please, please friend – DO!
Oh, Lord, please help each and every one of us to go WHEREVER you send us. Even when we desperately don’t want to go there! Help us to be faithful to you as you are to us! Help us to be so devoted to you that we don’t even hesitate to obey you no matter where you send us. Help us to have submissive hearts. I fall so far short in this, Lord. Even when I do obey, sometimes my heart is wrong. Help our hearts – and actions – to be pleasing to you. No matter where you send us, dear Lord, please, and thank you Lord, AMEN!
““If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15
