Who Are You Living for?

“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15

Who are you living for, friend? Are you living for yourself? Or, are you living for the Lord?

For years, I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, professed to love Him more than anything or anyone, went to church, prayed, read my Bible, went to prayer meetings, went to Bible studies, had Christian friends, met with pastors, and worked hard to “serve” the Lord. But something was terribly wrong.

I didn’t have a deeply personal, wonderfully intimate relationship with the Lord, and I was living for myself not for Jesus. I had the appearance of being a “good Christian”. But if you had stripped away everything the world could see, you would have found a woman of weak faith who had a relationship with Christianity, Christians, churches, prayer meetings, pastors, Bible studies, the Bible, etc., and not first and foremost and most importantly  a rock solid relationship with Jesus Himself. To top it off, I wasn’t living for Jesus! I was living for me!

In my heart of hearts, I was living for myself. I wanted to feel good, to feel better, to get better, to be better, to get what I wanted, to get whom I wanted, to live according to the world’s ways, to fulfill my dreams, to have my plans and purpose come to pass, to be satisfied and content and comfortable, to feel safe and secure, and to have others meet my expectations, needs, and desires. That’s the truth. All the while, mind you, I convinced myself I was seeking and trying to fulfill God’s will for me. I wasn’t even close!

The Lord changed it all. He drew me to Himself, taught me how to have a phenomenally beautiful, ever-deepening, ever-richer, ever-growing magnificent and awesomely abundant intimate relationship with Himself, took me by His Holy Spirit deep into His Word and began to teach it to me Himself, led me for about 7 years into loads of solitude during which time He transformed me beyond imagination, and overhauled my understanding of what it is to be a genuine Jesus follower. He taught me that we who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord are to no longer live for ourselves but to live wholeheartedly for Him. We are to be wholly His. We are not merely to believe in Him. We are to follow Him. And, in so doing, we are not to live for me, me, me. We are to live FOR HIM!

And, frankly, there is no living for self that could possibly produce the love, peace, hope, joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, excitement, thrill, and amazingness and awesomeness and wonder and splendor and gloriousness of the Lord Jesus Christ, of having a forever relationship with Him, and of living for the Lord according to the Lord’s ways for the glory of the Lord, AMEN!

I encourage you to take an honest look at yourself. At your life as a whole. At your everyday life. At your thoughts. Your words. Your actions. At your heart. Your motives. Your decision-making. Your goals in life. Your priorities. Your greatest love. Your number one desire. Your biggest longing. Your hugest craving. Can you honestly say you are no longer living for self and that you’re living for the Lord Jesus Christ? If the answer is yes, hallelujah! Carry on! If the answer is no, may this message be used by God to bring you to total surrender.

Turn from your sins. Believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. Believe He died on the cross to pay your sin punishment and was raised from the dead. Turn to God. Turn to His ways. Commit yourself wholly, fully, entirely to Jesus as Lord. Devote yourself utterly to Him. Make Him your first love. Seek God’s will for your life and dedicate yourself to fulfilling it. No longer live for you, friend. Give 100% day in and day out to LIVING FOR THE LORD! Hallelujah, AMEN!

Oh, the joy of belonging to Jesus forever! Oh, the joy of living 100% for Him! Amen, hallelujah, glory be to the Lord, AMEN!

p.s. I no longer call myself a Christian. I am a 100% Jewish follower of the Lord Jesus Christ who is at long last totally devoted to the Lord and to living for Him! To the Lord be the glory, oh yes! Amen!
