Why God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6………………………

I was down on my knees, exhausted from a long day, praying briefly before climbing into bed when the Lord told me to do something. Something I had done before, but never to the best of my recollection in the way He told me He wanted me to do it.

Still on my knees, I said, “Why?”

His answer was immediate and emphatic.

“Do you need to know, or do you need to obey?” the Lord responded.

I didn’t answer. We both already knew the right answer.

I didn’t need to know. I didn’t need to understand. I didn’t need an explanation. I simply needed to obey.

When we receive Christ as Lord, repenting and believing Christ died on the cross for us and was raised from the dead, devoting our lives to Christ sincerely, really, truly, genuinely, we become GOD’S CHILDREN and CHRIST’S SERVANTS. We need TO LOVE and TO OBEY and TO HONOR our Father, Lord, and master, no matter what He tells us to do, regardless of whether or not He chooses to give us understanding, an explanation, etc. And regardless of how we feel and think about what He tells us to do.

True faith in Christ LOVES, OBEYS, and HONORS God almighty through Christ! Unconditionally. Simply because we are His children. We are His servants. We belong to Him. We are Christ’s.

The Lord has no obligation to explain and justify Himself. He may at times choose to give us understanding – or not.

We have one sole responsibility as belonging to Him.

To love and obey God, honor and revere Him, humble ourselves before Him and respond to Him when He tells us to do something with this.

Not, “Why?”

But, “Yes, Lord!”

For He is Lord.

Enough said.
