Why You SHOULD Reach Out

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14

“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

When we face trials, challenges, tribulations, hardships losses, grievances, hurts, etc., the most important person in the universe we SHOULD reach out to and cry out to and hear and obey is the Lord Jesus Christ, and after the Lord we need to reach out to His committed followers who can love us, pray for us, encourage us, point us to the Lord and to His Word, help us apply the Bible to our lives, help us distinguish and recognize the voice of the Lord as He speaks to our hearts in line with His Word, figure out what we may need to let go and change in our lives to be pleasing to the Lord, where in our hearts and lives we may need to repent, what and whom we may need to let go and turn away from, when we need to move forward and how and where, etc. We who follow Jesus are ONE Body of Christ, and we are to work together in loving and helping and supporting and praying for and encouraging one another to grow in relationship to the Lord and to others!

God did not create us to isolate ourselves, to wall ourselves off, neither from Him nor from our fellows. He did not create us to be alone. He did not create us to face the trials of life by ourselves. Yet sometimes when we face challenges, some of us turn our backs on God, or distance ourselves from Him anyway, and some of us perhaps because of pride or fear or  past hurts or current hurts or past betrayals or shyness or self-hatred or shame or discouragement and depression or for whatever reason distance ourselves from others.

God’s greatest commands to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves not to mention the Bible in its entirety make abundantly clear we are all part of one whole of His Creation with Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and King, and we have a command, a responsibility, and the incredible blessing of not living separated from God and others but in His fellowship and the fellowship of His forever followers!

Please make sure there is no distance, no separation, no walls, between you and the Lord, and between you and Christ’s followers. If you are facing a trial, reach out to the Lord, and reach out to others as He so leads you. It’s a two-way street, you know. Just as you reach out to Him and others, so should others reach out to Him and others also – you included. Such that we who follow Jesus are all loving and working together as one beloved whole belonging to the Lord!

Not only in our trials should we reach out to the Lord and to His followers, and they to us, but continually, day by day, as all who follow Jesus walk forward as His Spirit leads us, we should remember to walk not alone but to walk in the fellowship of the Lord number one as well as the fellowship of those who also believe in Him as Lord!

May we never walk alone. Reach out, friend, reach out!
