To whom do you cry in the midst of your battle? Let’s face it. The world is at war. Satan is using every trick up his sleeve, spiritual warfare seems to be at an all time high, and people seem to be facing challenges like never before. Chances are you have found yourself in a battle, so what is your battle cry? To whom do you cry out? I stumbled across a Bible verse just minutes ago that reminds me where victory lies.
1Ch 5:20 “And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.”
In the midst of their battle, what did these people do to secure their ultimate victory? They cried out to the Lord. Why was He “intreated” of them? The original Hebrew word that translates into “intreated” in this context means “pray, intercede, intreat, offer incense in worship,” according to the concordance. So the people not only cried out to the Lord. They engaged in relationship with the Lord through prayer, intercession, and worship. Why did He answer them? They trusted Him.
Wow. Just this very morning, the Lord showed me clearly that I had withdrawn my trust from Him. Within an hour, He led me to this scripture that reminds me that my victory is in Him and no other.
The battle in my life has been so intense lately that I have wondered if the Lord truly hears my cry. Of course He does. I have wondered if He will answer my prayers. Of course He will. But my battle cry and prayers must be accompanied with the most important investment I will ever make.
No matter how wild the battle, no matter how many casualties, no matter how much smoke from the refining fire, no matter the intensity of the heat, no matter how intimidating the enemy looks and sounds, no matter how big the army on the other side, I must remember that the battle belongs to the Lord. And, along with this remembrance, I must place my trust back where it belongs.
In Jesus.
1Sa 17:47 “And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.”

While I agree with the content in – Gulvafslibning | Kurt Gulvmand , I think the positive sentiment around today is a result of a politically engineered set of circumstances. The demand for consumer loans is still poor and there is no improvement in the housing market. The developed nations are surviving on their politicians ability to just borrow and spend into their economies which is unsustainable. Regards, Melissa Moffatt.
