LATEST UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST………..

Dear friend,

Wow. I thought I was exhausted recently. Nothing compared with the exhaustion I am experiencing now! But still, it’s such a very good tired. Tired from loving and serving the Lord on the streets of New York City (both with and without my sweet handicapped streets ministry doggies) and inside writing my tracts, devotionals, and books.

By the Lord’s grace alone for the Lord’s glory alone, I finished my edit of my latest book, 365 Blessings, and God willing I can send it out soon for printing and then distribution.

On another note, I am having more and more opportunities to join alongside some brothers in Christ and sometimes a few sisters in the Lord whose hearts are on fire for the Lord and and who are faithfully and devotedly preaching the Gospel on the New York City streets. They are also distributing the tracts and devotionals I write, and I am so incredibly thankful for how the Lord has brought us all together to spread the Gospel message in New York City.

I am now getting back to my GOOD NEWS DAILY writing, have several new writing projects the Lord has put on my heart as I press on, and am trying to keep up with the production and distribution of the tracts and devotionals with some help from friends in another part of the country and also doing some printing and such right out of my little apartment!

Rest assured one look at my little apartment and you can see my heart. It is jam packed with my Bibles, my laptop for writing, tons of tracts and devotionals all over, my printing and stapling equipment, my sweet streets ministry doggies and their veterinary supplies and wheelchairs and massive dog bed and crate and such, and a little bit of space leftover for me and my minimal personal belongings! Even my little bed functions as part bed, part office. The apartment is quite narrow, so I am often maneuvering around a dog to get to one thing, then another thing to get to a dog, pushing a wheelchair in one direction, moving something in another, and on it goes.

I am at a point at which I have constant opportunities to talk to people about Jesus or to point people to Him in my writing, and I consider myself blessed beyond measure.

Later today, I am meeting a film maker from Europe who asked to do a video interview about the streets ministry doggies and my personal testimony. By God’s grace, I am having more and more opportunities to do interviews on camera and the dogs are constantly being photographed by people from around the world. ALL OF THIS TO ME IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK TO PEOPLE ABOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND TO GIVE THEM TRACTS AND DEVOTIONALS.

Oh, how I live and breathe to love and glorify the Lord and to tell the world JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO EVERLASTING LIFE!

Hallelujah!

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

Dear friend,

I just got off the telephone with a brother in Christ who had a need. I barely knew him. The Lord had brought us together via streets ministry and a Bible study. Turns out he had been praying to the Lord for help with the need and that part of my ministry calling is the perfect fit to help meet his need.

“There you were just standing in front of me,” he told me.

Amazing, isn’t it? The Lord knows OUR EVERY NEED. And when we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and are living in love for and obedience to Him, He answers our cries with His perfect will in His perfect time for His glory.

How often do you think we go through our everyday lives neglecting to see and to thank the Lord for His love, grace, glory, and wonder?

I encourage us – yes, you and I – to keep our hearts and eyes wide open to see the Lord’s goodness each and every day. And may we keep our mouths wide open in praise to Him and in praise of Him to others.

love & blessings,

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

ANOTHER DOGGONE FAITH LESSON

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:3

“Why don’t you say thank you since you seem to know how to talk when you want something?” I told Mr Simeon as I moved him onto his bed from the floor where he had just indulged joyfully and blissfully on a special breakfast.

Yes, he talks. People don’t believe me until they’ve been around him. Just a few minutes is all it takes once he gets started for people to see by the sound he makes and his facial expressions that he isn’t howling. Not barking. Talking. On and on – and on. With facial expressions to go with the endless chatter.

Even as I spoke those words to my beloved Mr. Simeon, I heard the message in it. Isn’t that how we sometimes treat the Lord? We have lots to say when we want something, but how often do we spend time thanking and praising and blessing Him? With our hearts. With our mouths. Even in our actions. Praising Him. And speaking wonderfully and thankfully of Him to others.

I have such a long ways to go when it comes to praising the Lord. And I am resolved to press on in learning to praise Him – and to praise, praise, praise the Lord!

Please join me in loving, serving, glorifying – and PRAISING THE LORD!

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book the Lord has led me to publish piece by piece even as I’m writing it rather than waiting until it’s in print to share it. Please join me & be blessed as I write my latest book…!

Blessing #146

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” John 10:17-18

Please read the words in these verses carefully. Yes, carefully. Does it say Jesus’ life was TAKEN from Him? No, the verses say JESUS LAID DOWN HIS LIFE. Yes, that’s right. Therein lies the sacrifice. He didn’t have to do what He did. He CHOSE to do what He did. He obeyed the Father. He is the Father. He is the Father come down to this earth in the flesh. He is Lord. And He CHOSE to make the sacrifice He did FOR US. He obeyed the Father in laying down His life for us. May sound confusing, but once you believe in Jesus as Lord, once you read the Bible, once you grow in your personal relationship with the Lord, the more you come to understand how Father God almighty, Jesus Son of God, and the Spirit of God are all one!

And the ONE TRUE GOD – the Lord Jesus Christ – PURPOSELY, CONSCIOUSLY, HUMBLY, LOVINGLY, MERCIFULLY, SACRIFICIALLY LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US! Please don’t miss the exceeding nature of His sacrifice. There is a world of difference between someone who loses his life and one who gives it up. The Lord Jesus Christ gave up His life for us, oh, hallelujah, glory to the Lord who will live and reign forever and ever, forevermore, yes, AMEN!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

WANT, WANT, AND MORE WANT – BUT WAIT!

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Psalm 100:4

“Oh now you’re going to talk to me because you want something from me?” a man told his little girl as they walked down the street.

I hadn’t been paying much attention to him and his family except for the fact I was walking 14-year-old Abigail and 8-year-old disabled Gracie who is petrified of people and was super uncomfortable around the noise of a child skipping down the street or whatever the child was doing when she decided to turn to her Dad.

Apparently the little girl hadn’t been paying her Dad much if any attention until she wanted something.

Sound familiar? Tragically, that’s what some of us do with the Lord God almighty. We come to Him when we want something – and otherwise pay Him little to no attention. Can you imagine how that must hurt the heart of the Lord?

Not to mention how can we possibly obey, serve, and follow the Lord if we don’t spend time learning of Him and from Him in time alone with Him seeking Him, reading the Bible, listening for the voice of His Spirit, being changed by Him, praising and worshiping Him, above all else, living for Him as our first love and highest priority?

That Dad pointed out to his daughter how absent she was until she came to him to get a need or desire met.

May this little devotional be a reminder to you and me that the Lord should be number one in our lives and not simply someone to come to when we have a need or desire.

A hard lesson perhaps. But a necessary one. Jesus Christ is forever Lord and must be loved, honored, revered, and obeyed as more important than anything or anyone in the universe. Hallelujah!

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

“Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.” Psalm 100:2
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26
“I’m going to do such and such!” I declared to myself. In typical me fashion, I had just finished editing my latest book less than about 2 hours earlier and was already charging forward with the next chapters of my life – in my mind anyway.

“Is that what I want you to do?” the Spirit of God spoke to my heart.

Hadn’t I just finished editing a devotional on acting “presumptuously”? In other words, not waiting on the Lord’s will and timing but moving forward in the prideful flesh? Yes.

The Lord had caught me quickly. He promises to bring to remembrance what He has taught us, doesn’t He? And so He did.

Serving Jesus isn’t about our will, our timing, and our glory. It’s about the Lord Jesus Christ, His will, His timing, and His glory.

I needed the reminder. Do you?
