“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6
Why is it when we think of blessings do we tend to think of physical blessings instead of first and foremost the greatest blessings of all which are the Lord Himself, a forever relationship with Him, and all the spiritual blessings He bestows upon us like hope, love, peace, joy, grace, mercy, comfort, compassion, contentment, fulfillment, fellowship, friendship, and on and on? When you think of your blessings, do you think above all else of Himself and then of these and all the other spiritual blessings with which the Lord blesses you? What we see, hear, touch, taste, etc., is the most obvious, isn’t it? Most assuredly we should be thankful to God for all our physical blessings. But let’s be mindful to thank God for our greatest blessings of all – beginning with Himself and going on and on and on when it comes to His spiritual blessings. When you spend time with God, when you read the Bible, and when you go through your each and every day, keep your heart open to the Lord’s blessedness. His blessings are unfathomably wonderful and too many to count, aren’t they? Most assuredly yes! How endless are the Lord’s blessings! Oh, thank you Lord! Thank you Father! Thank you Jesus! Thank you for your spiritual blessings!
