A Physical Therapy Lesson

People get physical therapy for all sorts of reasons. Some extraordinarily big reasons. Some very small. When I contemplated it as a profession long ago, I did a little volunteering. On the extreme I recall a man who was horrifically burned in a fire. And a young woman who was shot by her boyfriend and left paralyzed. On the smaller end I have gone to physical therapy to strengthen my back for prevention purposes due to a medical diagnosis. One thing I believe holds true for it all.

The best physical therapist is not someone who merely is an expert due to education and experience. But someone who shows great love, care, kindness, patience, and compassion and continually encourages the patient in a really positive way. Even when the physical therapist needs to be firm and bring correction to help the patient make positive and necessary changes.

When we who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ help others, no matter the circumstances and even when we need to be firm and bring correction, always we should treat others with the love of Jesus, kindness, patience, and compassion and with strong encouragement!

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34 NKJV

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14 NKJV
