I had the exceedingly amazing privilege of ministering online to a beautiful young woman the Lord had blessedly led me to several years prior who was now living in a war-torn country. While I could not fathom experiencing what she and her family and nation were currently experiencing amid the devastation of major war, I could also not fathom something unbelievable and powerful she did.
This lovely woman asked how I was. Can you imagine? Given everything she was going through in the midst of major war which so many of us cannot even conceive of, she lovingly made clear she wanted to know how I was. What a selfless, sacrificial expression of the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We live in such a self-centered world. Daily I see how self-centered I can be and how consumed I can be with my own struggles and how easily I can fall into not seeing past myself to a world in need. The Lord is continually teaching me to deny self, take up my little cross, follow Him, and love and serve others in His name.
What a powerful war story. A young woman in a nation ravaged by war reaching out to someone else with Jesus’ love.
May God use this testimony to help us humbly yield ourselves to Him and to share His love with a world in dire need of Him!
