A Warning About Your Calling

0

I know of a man who was called by God to serve Him in ministry in certain ways but seemed to refuse to wait on the Lord for God’s perfect will and perfect timing and instead rushed ahead to serve the Lord. Three major problems ensued.

First, he did not appear to give God time to prepare his heart and life to fulfill his calling so he would likely fall short in pursuing God’s plan for him.

Second, he had a seeming serious sin in his life which when confronted concerning it he refused to get rid of the sin and do what was right in God’s eyes instead.

Third, he seemingly decided to take under his wing a number of people in need whereby the details of which did not appear to line up with the Bible and God’s will concerning the matter.

The end result of all this?

I do not know. But I can tell you this. In my pride, foolishness, impatience, and eagerness to serve the Lord many years ago, I did the exact same thing. I did not wait on God’s timing to pursue His calling for me whereby I did not give God time to prepare my heart and life, I had sin in my life I rebelliously refused to rid myself of, and I took people in need under my wing in a way that did not line up with the Bible.

The end result of all this?

I do know because it is my own story. I undoubtedly hurt the heart of God, I fell short in pursuing God’s plan for me, my heart and life were a mess, I hurt countless people, I made a mess of everything, I had to repent, and to this day people on this earth bear the aftereffects of my wrongly not waiting on God to make clear to me HIS PERFECT WILL and HIS PERFECT TIMING – such that I could and should have obeyed Him accordingly!

Friend, whatever God calls you to do in loving and serving Him, please cry out to God, pray to Him passionately and with perseverance, wait on Him to speak to your heart through the Bible and by His Holy Spirit, obey Him, and go forth IN GOD’S TIME – TO FULFILL GOD’S WILL.

If you have already done as the man and I did and likely countless others, please do what is right. Repent and return to the Lord!

Let us all live our lives each and every day seeking and fulfilling the will of God in His timing for His glory, AMEN!
