I was thinking about something incredibly hard and scary God has brought me through. Then came the thought of something else seemingly insurmountable He has brought me through. Then came other memories of unbelievable things God has brought me through. Soon enough it came to me I have a lifetime of circumstances that appeared utterly hopeless, dangerous, tragic, terrifying, heartbreaking, impassable, etc. God has brought me through. Truth is over the years I have done something I believe many of us have done we need to be careful not to do.
Sometimes we are so focused on praying to God to help us deal with present indescribably hard challenges and seemingly impossible circumstances that we forget about all God has already brought us through and in the process neglect to praise, thank, and bless Him continually as we should. We may get so caught up in the ASKING that we forget to continue doing the THANKING. We get so caught up in the great challenges we face going forward that we forget what amazing and awesome and wonderful and loving things God has already done in our lives.
Let us have a healthy combination in our lives of PRAYER and PRAISE. Praying as we go forward and praising, thanking, and blessing God for what He has already done! Hallelujah!
