I’m sorry Father!” I exclaimed to the Lord. What had I done? I don’t even remember. But I do know this. His Holy Spirit who dwells inside His followers replied quickly – and strongly.
“Sorry isn’t enough. You need to make the change.”
I read somewhere long ago essentially that true repentance involves a change of heart so genuine that it results in a change in action.
For years, I asked the Lord to forgive me for the same behaviors I jumped right back into. I don’t know how bad I felt in the first place for sinning against God. I suppose I had some remorse. I also hated the consequences of my sin especially how I felt. But truth was I wasn’t totally committed to learning how to be free from the sin. I wanted God’s forgiveness but wasn’t fully committed to living a life pleasing and honoring to the Lord. I was still living for myself not for Him.
When we make the commitment to live for Christ, friend, we are to truly feel sorry when we sin against God, we are to seek and receive His forgiveness, AND IN THE STRENGTH OF CHRIST FOR THE GLORY OF CHRIST WE ARE TO LEARN TO DO RIGHT NOT WRONG.
Need God’s forgiveness? Ready to make some changes? Press on!
Lord, please use this message to teach others what you have taught me. Help us all to yearn to please and honor you. Help us be truly sorry over when we sin against you. Help us to be willing to humble ourselves and in your strength please you, dear Father. Amen.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
