Are You Really Saved?

Periodically people tell me they are afraid they are not really saved. In other words, they question whether God has forgiven their sins, they are saved from God’s wrath, death, hell, and the lake of fire forever apart from Him, and promised everlasting life with Him. I have seen three main reasons people question their salvation, and there is only one answer to it all.

First, some people call themselves Christians but are not truly saved.

Second, some people are saved but are listening to the devil torment them with false accusations that they are not saved.

Third, some people are saved but are not totally committed to Christ and His ways and are not living in wholehearted obedience to Him and need to turn to the Lord and make a much deeper full-hearted surrender. They are feeling conviction that something isn’t right in their lives because they have either turned their back on the Lord in whom they believe and need to repent and return to Him, or they are lukewarm in their faith in and devotion to Him and need to humble themselves and become totally sold out!

There is ONE answer and way to address all of this:

There is only ONE TRUE GOD, the Lord Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead. God’s forgiveness and eternal life with Him are for those who humble ourselves and acknowledge we are sinners, believe Jesus is Lord and in His death and resurrection, and turn from our sins to God and His ways.

Eternal life is for those who genuinely repent and leave behind a self-centered life based on the world’s wicked ways and live a life of obedience to Christ according to God’s perfect righteous ways. Eternal life is for those who no longer live for self but live to love, worship, and serve the Lord! We are to be fully committed, fully devoted, sold out, on fire for the Lord!

Are you a believer in Christ who has truly repented, placed your faith in Christ as Lord, and are now on His “paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3)” filled with and led by His Holy Spirit according to God’s ways as He teaches in the Bible? Oh, may it be so! Now is the time! Now is the time! Turn, turn, turn to the Lord and His ways! Now, turn, now, turn! AMEN!

Father, save, save, save! You don’t want any to perish. Bring conviction, lead people reading this to repentance, forgive and save them. Give them eternal life! And please, holy Father, help us all to humble ourselves and live to love, worship, and glorify you forever and ever, AMEN!

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

“”Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”” John 3:36
