Be Strong!

Know what the Bible says when it comes to strength? Lots – including this.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Then the Bible tells us to put on and use the entire armour He gives us to fight and have victory in our spiritual battles as the devil comes hard at us in his despicable mission to kill, destroy, and steal (John 10:10). Maybe you are already familiar with these verses just below, but I encourage you to read them once more now after which I would love to share with you something the Holy Spirit brought to my attention that greatly blessed me. I hope it will bless you also!

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:11-20

Now please consider the verse I first shared with you about being strong. We are to put on and use the entire armor of God and fight in OUR strength, power, and might, right? WRONG! Please read the verse again:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10

So this is what so greatly blessed me! We are to be strong IN JESUS! In HIS POWER. In HIS MIGHT. Glory to God! We don’t have to try to muster up strength we don’t even have! Nor do we have to stand in the measly human strength we do have. We are to stand IN THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. God not only gives us HIS ARMOR, but He gives us HIS STRENGTH, POWER, and MIGHT!

But where is it? Where do we get it? How do we get it? THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD ALMIGHTY lives inside those of us who humble ourselves and admit we’re sinners, turn from a lifestyle of sin to Jesus Christ as Lord, believing in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection, genuinely surrendering our lives to God and His ways! Yes, you read that right! THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST lives in His followers! IN JESUS are HIS STRENGTH, HIS POWER, and HIS MIGHT! Well, how do we get it?

TURN TO THE LORD! CRY OUT TO THE LORD! SEEK THE LORD! PRAY TO THE LORD! SPEND TIME IN HIS PRESENCE! PRAISE AND WORSHIP HIM! OBEY HIM! LOVE AND SERVE HIM! READ THE BIBLE! LIVE BY IT! GLORIFY GOD EACH AND EVERY DAY! HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE HIM! LIVE AND FIGHT YOUR SPIRITUAL BATTLES IN HIS STRENGTH, POWER, and MIGHT!

I’m excited even just writing this! I have lived for so many years believing in Christ as Lord but cowering, being intimidated, being afraid, worrying, allowing the devil to wreak havoc in my life, believing his lies and walking around defeated, discouraged, disgruntled, down, etc. As though I didn’t have an ounce of strength, power, and might in the world. When all along I have had the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD DWELLING IN ME! And HIS STRENGTH, POWER, and MIGHT right inside me!

I’m excited to learn how to put on and use the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD and to live and win my battles in THE STRENGTH, POWER, AND MIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST FOREVER GOD! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Father! Thank you God!

Let us be victorious in our spiritual battles in the STRENGTH, POWER, and MIGHT of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
