The Lord tells us in the Bible not to be conformed to this world. He tells us not to be conformed to our “former lusts.” Instead, we are to be conformed to Him! Dictionary.com includes in its definition of “conform” this: “to be or become similar in form, nature, or character.” We are not “to be or become similar in form, nature, or character” to the world and its wicked ways.
Instead, we are to be conformed to the Lord Jesus Christ! We are to grow in the image of Christ! How? Please see the verses below. We are to be transformed! How? By renewing our minds! How? By studying and living by the Bible! The Holy Spirit of God will transform us through the Bible as we yield ourselves to Him! Don’t be conformed to this world, friend! Be conformed to the Lord Jesus Christ! This is the will of the Lord. Amen!
Father, we were created in your image not the world’s. Please grow us in your image. Please give us all a humongous hunger and thirst to read your Word, to live by it, to yield ourselves continually to your Holy Spirit, and to be transformed by you. Help us not to look to the world to teach us how to live. Please help us to look steadfastly to you and your Word. Teach us how to live, Lord! Conform us to yourself! Oh, yes! Amen!
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”” 1 Peter 1:13-16
“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29
