“Consider your ways!” Now please note the quotation marks. These are not my words. “Consider your ways!” are the Lord’s words. Please see in the verses below what the Lord tells the people through the prophet Haggai. Twice, the Lord says, “Consider your ways!” Why? Because they are reaping the awful rewards of their disobedience and need to make some serious changes to their “ways”.
In fact, the Lord tells them very clearly what exactly He wants them to do. They have been consumed with themselves and lived in their houses. Now it’s time to re-build His “house”. His temple! I am not a Bible expert, but my understanding is the Jerusalem temple was destroyed by the enemy because of their rebellion against God! Rest assured this message I am compelled to share with you isn’t about people of long ago, their disobedience, God’s call for them to obey Him, and His instructions regarding His temple. This message is about YOUR WAYS and MY WAYS. And how WE need to CONSIDER OUR WAYS!
Is there anything in your heart and life displeasing to God? Are you grieving the Lord in any way by being in rebellion against Him in any area of your life? If so, repent and return to Him! Please read the verses below and seek the Lord and see if He has any instructions for you as you go forward IN OBEDIENCE TO HIM!
Father, wow. I am shocked by how over the years your Holy Spirit has taught me so much and changed me so much through the reading of your Word. You just keep pouring messages through me for myself definitely and also for so many others. Please take this one and use it to bring correction where we need it and change where you desire it that we may day by day live to love you and bring glory to your holy most precious most glorious almighty name, AMEN!
“Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the LORD.” Haggai 1:5-8
