What if God spoke these words to you? What if they were really His? I heard these words today inside my heart, and I believe they are for me. Are they also for you? If they are, please take them to heart – and let them guide and inspire you as you walk forward into and through the day……….
If you abide in me, what will happen? Try it. My Word tells you to do exactly this – to abide in me. Yet so many of you neglect to follow me when I ask you to do this. You are to live your life in me, as I live my life in you. Yet you have a tendency to do everything but this.
You begin your day with a prayer, you think of me, sometimes you even study the Word I have given you. Yet when it comes to living in me, you tend to go your own way. You feel that you have done what you have needed to do to begin your day. Now you begin to live your life the way that you feel obligated to – not necessarily the way I have called you to. What does it mean to live your life in me? Continue to study my Word, and you will have a deeper understanding. For starters, remember that I call you to walk in my love. So to live your life in me also means to live your life in love.
This is not the human emotion that I refer to. This is the love that I am. You think of this love as unconditional. It is indeed unconditional, but this is not all. This is merely the beginning of what my love is. When you obey my commands, you will understand what it is to walk in my love. What are my commands, you wonder. Study my Word. My Word will teach you. My Word will guide you. My Word will change you. My Word will make you more like I am.
This is your job today, among the other things that I have called you to do. Begin with living in me. Watch how different your life is when you make this choice. Certainly, it is a choice. You can also choose to live your life the way you have always lived it. You will see the results either way. Why not, this day, choose to live in me? I am already living in you. So instead of disconnecting yourself from me, why not walk in unity with me?
Walk in my love, my child. Make decisions today based on loving like I do. I am love, and you desire to be like me. Love like I do. When someone hurts you today, love them. When someone neglects you, reach out to them. When someone falls short, cover them. When someone fails to do as you would do, do as I would do. Remember that my love has nothing to do with what others do.
My love is who I am. So love today. Love with the heart I have given you. Watch the world respond to the love you bestow upon it. Do not take credit for this love. It is the love I have given you. My name will be glorified. Remember, love is who I am.
Dear Father, Are these your words? Is this your message? If it is, if this comes from you, then please Lord help me to do exactly what I hear in these words. Help me to walk in your love. Amen.
