So you know it’s high time to move forward in your life, but something is holding you back. You’re stuck in neutral. Your tires are spinning. You keep trying to shift into drive, but you’re not making any headway. Your gear shift is stuck, just like your life. Stuck, stuck, stuck. So what’s holding you back?
You’re good at pointing fingers. It’s his fault. Her fault. Somebody’s fault. Anybody’s fault. You know the reasons. You’ve gone over them over and again. Somebody’s always to blame. Or circumstances. Circumstances are always in your way. Hurdles. Challenges. Blocks. One thing’s for sure. It’s never your fault.
Wait a minute. Is there any possibility that what’s holding you back is YOU? God has a plan and purpose for your life, and He didn’t create you to be stuck. You can spend the rest of your life blaming someone or something for why you’re stuck in neutral, or you can do something about your stuck life. Do you want to stay stuck? Or, do you want to get out of neutral and shift into drive? Think it’s impossible? Think again.
Why not take a look at what’s keeping you stuck, and do something about it? Quit pointing the finger at the world around you, and take a look in the mirror. Better yet, go into your prayer closet, shut the door to the noises, the distractions, the voices, and the temptations of the world all around you, and seek the Lord’s face.
Ask Him to show you why you’re stuck, confess the sins He shows you and receive His forgiveness in the name of Jesus, seek His will for the next steps in your life, and shift gears. And, when you shift into drive, make sure you’ve got the right driver at the wheel.

Dear Father, it’s so easy for me to write to others and not include myself. But I know the messages you give me aren’t just for others; so often they’re also for me! Father, I come to you now and ask you to be my mirror. Show me, as you did earlier today, what might be blocking me from moving forward in the direction you are calling me. Please don’t let me stay in neutral. I want to press forward! I ask you to forgive me for standing in your way, for being afraid to go forth, and for believing the lies about myself and ministry that Satan tried to stop me with. I will not be stopped, Lord. Please cleanse me, and help me to hold onto you and the Truth of your Word. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
