The Best Compliment Ever

WALK BY FAITH DEVOTIONAL – 5/4/2013

I got the best compliment ever today. A woman with whom I have crossed paths for the past few years in sometimes challenging circumstances told me she sees my heart, and that she sees the Lord in and through me.

There was a time in the past I had to repent for the way I had treated her. There was a time I had to seek her forgiveness. There was a time I worried incessantly about something involving her. There was a time loving sisters in Christ prayed for me, and for her, and encouraged me to humble myself and to step out of God’s way. There was a time I wanted to scream and cry and rant and pull out my hair – and maybe hers too! There was a time I judged and condemned her instead of seeing her need and loving, forgiving, and washing her feet.

There were so many times I could not see past my flesh – and past hers.

But I committed my way to the Lord, and I humbled myself, and I sought the Lord’s face, and I prayed. And I turned from my wicked ways. And the Lord brought healing.

And He gave me the desires of my heart – to love Him with all my heart, and to love my neighbor as myself. He gave me my desire to let my light shine in an ever darkening world. He gave me my desire for Him to live in and through me.

And He gave me the opportunity today to humble myself before Him, and before her, and to serve her with a heart full of His love.

And He gave me my greatest desire of all – that she would not see me.

She saw Him.

Mar 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

Psa 37:3  “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psa 37:4  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Psa 37:5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psa 37:6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Psa 37:7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psa 37:8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Psa 37:9  For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.”

2Ch 7:14  “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Gal 2:20  “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Mat 5:16  “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Thank you, Father, for your amazing grace. Your amazing mercy. Your amazing love. You’re so amazing, Father. Thank you for humbling me, and bringing this to pass. Please help us all to humble ourselves, to seek your face, to pray, and to walk in your ways. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Actually rarely can i encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you could have hit the nail about the head. Your idea is outstanding; the thing is something that too few individuals are speaking intelligently about. We are delighted that we came across this around my try to find some thing with this.
