“I don’t know if you’d be led or maybe someone you know might be,” I asked a woman I had known long ago and with whom I had crossed paths once more. “But I’m looking for some help with my ministry,” I essentially told her.
Her response? “I’ll pray on it.”
What a beautiful answer! She could have jumped in with a response based on the flesh, i.e. what she wanted or didn’t want that would please herself. But she chose not to make an impulsive, fleshly decision. She would instead seek the Lord.
Do you look to the Lord in decision making? Or do you look to yourself and your own thoughts, opinions, feelings, and comfort?
Look to the Lord Jesus Christ!
Father, please forgive us when we’re impulsive and act based on our flesh. Remind us, Lord, to look to you and to obey you. Help us to live for you, oh Lord!
