Don’t Go There!

I have learned so incredibly much being on the road for Jesus full-time without a permanent home base but learning to dwell in Him instead and to look forward to heaven with Him as my permanent home, and one thing I have learned bears a message for us all. When we really want to go somewhere, and when that place is not where the Lord wants us to go, we need to NOT GO THERE!

Friend, if you are thinking of going somewhere geographically or simply to a new job, new relationship, new hobby, new neighborhood, new school, a different group of people, anywhere or anything at all, if it is not the will of the Lord Jesus Christ, don’t go there!

I cannot tell you how many times I have daydreamed about going to certain locations as I continue my travels around the United States for Jesus only to find through prayer that the Lord is not sending me there. I could have gone there anyway. We are given free will. But Jesus Christ is Lord, I am His, and I choose day by day to deny self, to take up my little cross, and to go where He sends me. Even when my flesh wants to go one way and the Lord is calling me in another direction, I have learned a Christ follower is to choose the right way. Following the leading of the Spirit of God to where He wants us to go!

If you have been daydreaming about going in a certain direction or have even started out in that direction and it’s not God’s will, please turn to Jesus. Seek the Lord, wait on Him, and in His strength go where He wants you to go. For He is Lord!

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” John 12:26

Oh Father, how far short we fall when it comes to the direction we go. We who profess to believe in you don’t always follow you the way that we should. Sometimes we go in our own direction. Or we go in your direction but with the wrong attitude. Please forgive us for every time we fall short in this, oh dear Lord, and help us to go where you send us and not go where you are not sending us. And wherever you desire we go and you lead us, Lord, let us go with a heart filled with love, joy, and thanksgiving. Thank you dear precious Father, AMEN!
