Don’t Let the Devil Run You Off

0

Just about every time the Lord sends me to a new location in my being on the road for Him and ministry full-time with no home base anywhere, the devil works quickly to try to run me off. He tries to get me to flee. To leave where God has sent me as quickly as possible so I don’t stay and do the work to which the Lord has called me. Not only the ministry work, mind you. But sometimes the Lord sends me to new locations for other reasons along with the work. For Him to grow me, teach me, test me, refine me, give me rest, etc. Regardless of the Lord’s purpose, I have much experience in the devil trying to run me off. And I have a message for you, friend. It is this.

When the Lord calls you somewhere, whether to a place, to a person, to people, to a job, to an opportunity, to a church, to a neighborhood, to whatever or whomever, whatever His reason, DO NOT LET THE DEVIL RUN YOU OFF.

Even as I write this, I am just over a week into being in a new location. I am extremely uncomfortable for a variety of reasons, and this time around I remember as unfortunately I haven’t already remembered how the enemy tends to try to attack me hard and quickly when I arrive at new locations for the Lord.

It is so important that we recognize when the devil is coming after us so we don’t fall for his tactics and bow down to him and run away from God’s will rather than bow down to God and humbly and lovingly and devotedly trust Him and obey Him and stay where He calls us and do what He calls us to do there until if and when it is God’s will He moves us on.

God will give us all we need strength included to do what He calls us to do wherever He leads us. Yes, wherever He calls us to go. We need to look to Him, not let the devil run us off, and follow the leading of the Lord as He leads us forth. Not with a bad, negative, complaining, angry, hurt, bitter, resentful, self-pitying attitude as I confess I have often have, but with a heart filled with humility, thanksgiving, joy, and willingness and a desire and commitment to love, please, honor, serve, obey, praise, worship, adore, and glorify God as He is teaching me to do wherever He calls us to go.

Let’s not let the devil run us off from where and to whatever and to whomever the Lord calls us, friend. Let’s be faithful in following the Lord and in His strength with His love, mercy, grace, and protection go and stay where He calls us until if and when He makes clear it is time to move on.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” 1 Peter 5:8-10
