“You’re so sad missing what you want that you’re missing what you have,” the Lord spoke to my heart.
I won’t go into the details. That’s not the point. This is. The Lord was right. He always is. And I believe what He told me is true for many of us. Sometimes we’re so focused on what we want or what we lost or what we don’t have or what we haven’t yet gotten if we’re going to get it that we miss the blessings right in front of us He gives us each and every day.
Honestly, I’m prone to getting my focus off the Lord, off His Word, off His goodness, and off my blessings and to get swept away by my trials and my emotions. None of this is good! What’s good is God and focusing on Him and His goodness. So I’m one of those people who has to do a lot of shifting my focus. Back to Him! Back to His Word! Back to His blessings! Back to being thankful! Back to being glad today! Back to rejoicing today! Hallelujah!
This doesn’t mean life isn’t hard sometimes. It is. This doesn’t mean life isn’t sad sometimes. It is. This doesn’t mean we may not face great challenges. We likely will. But it does mean that no matter our circumstances, we can learn to shift our focus to Jesus and to find love, peace, hope, joy, goodness, fellowship, and blessings in Him! Hallelujah, yes!
