Thanksgiving according to God and the Bible is not a once-a-year holiday but is to be our very way of life! But at times because of our life’s challenging circumstances and the world’s woes it may seem hard if not impossible to be thankful to the Lord.
Ever felt un-thankful? Feeling un-thankful now?
God desires and is deserving of our love, praise, honor, worship, and thanksgiving daily for Him, His love, and His endless goodness and blessings! Most of all for a forever relationship with Him and the promise of heaven for those who turn from our sins, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection, truly devote our lives to God and His ways, and produce the fruit of lives lived for Jesus!
But sometimes we fall short in thanksgiving to God as I did for years until the Lord taught me this powerful lesson.
When we focus on and stare at and become consumed with the hard, evil, dark, negative stuff and suffering in our lives and this world, it may seem natural to feel and be un-thankful.
What should we do? Set our hearts upon the Lord, on the Bible, on His love, and on the blessings He bestows upon us each and every day! And be thankful!
Let us fix our hearts ever upon the Lord! And when we find our focus has turned away, let us repent and return our focus to the Lord! And as we look to the Lord, may our hearts, words, and lives overflow with thanksgiving to Him!
Feeling un-thankful? Turn to Jesus! Hallelujah!
