I read a Bible verse about rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks FOR YEARS before the Holy Spirit opened wide my eyes and heart and illuminated something vital I had somehow missed.
Please note in this verse how often God tells us to rejoice, pray, and give thanks.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
ALWAYS, yes, on an ONGOING BASIS, in other words CONTINUALLY, we are to REJOICE, PRAY, and GIVE THANKS!
Per this verse, THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR US! How abundantly and wonderfully clear!
I heard a beautiful young woman at a women’s Bible study group speak emphatically about the vital necessity of FIXING OUR EYES on Jesus.
When we turn our eyes, hearts, focus, attention, and devotion to the Lord and the Bible, when we are totally devoted to the Lord and to fulfilling His will for our lives, when we take the time, love, and care to develop a deeply intimate personal relationship with Jesus, I believe rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks continually will come naturally and marvelously to us!
Oh, rejoice! Oh, pray! Oh, give thanks! Continually! Glory be to the Lord, AMEN!
