Food, Clothing & Shelter

Though my life has been filled with seemingly relentless pretty big challenges of one sort or another, I have been so incredibly blessed to always have had food, clothing, and shelter while so many people worldwide have gone without. So sadly, however, I took this for granted for such a very long time. Now, I try not to take a single blessing for granted. I am thankful for every ounce of food, every article of clothing, and every roof over my head I have ever had.

What changed me? God did. He is teaching me day by day to love and serve Him with all my heart, to love others as myself, to live utterly for Him, and to be thankful for all with which He blesses me day by day. Some people take credit for food, clothing, shelter, and their other provision and blessings as though they earn and deserve it as a result of their resumes, work experience, jobs, etc. I don’t take credit for food, shelter, clothing, or any other blessing in my life no matter how hard I work. I give God all the glory, and I am thankful to God beyond measure for every blessing I have ever had, have now, or will ever have.

I am also thankful to the people God has placed in my life over the years most especially my family who have been so loving and generous and giving and helpful whereby God has often provided for me and blessed me through others. And I believe thanking people is so very important. But the one who should be thanked above anyone in the universe is the Lord! May we never take for granted God’s goodness, and may we be ever thankful to Him as well as to those through whom He is so good to us! And may we be thankful to Him for them! ALL – absolutely ALL – the glory TO THE LORD for all the good in our lives!
