FORGIVE. FORGIVE. FORGIVE.

I was fixing a little meal for myself when the Holy Spirit of God broke into my thoughts as though God Himself were standing right there with me in my little kitchen.

FORGIVE. FORGIVE. FORGIVE.

I had been thinking about a professional man professing to be a Christian who had done something really, really mean, hurtful, disrespectful, unkind, uncaring, and uncompassionate just the day before.

Everyone who had heard the story in detail did not hesitate to conclude he had been enormously wrong in what he had done.

I had prayed hugely for the man but had somehow managed to forget something vitally important. I had not forgiven him!

Now the Lord was reminding me of what I had forgotten to do!

FORGIVE. FORGIVE. FORGIVE.

Why would the Holy Spirit repeat the word FORGIVE over and again? To emphasize that forgiveness is absolutely crucial!

I knew what I needed to do. FORGIVE!

Not only did I need to forgive him, but I needed to forgive the other person who had acted alongside him in an exceedingly unloving and hurtful manner.

May seem impossible to forgive some people for what they have done. But it is not impossible with God. The Lord Jesus Christ will give us the love, mercy, strength, and all that we need to forgive any and all we need to forgive!

Oh Lord God, in the name of Jesus, please bring to our hearts the names of all people we have forgotten or refused to forgive. And by the love and power of your Holy Spirit help us to forgive! Not tomorrow. Not further down the road. But right now. Please, oh Lord, and thank you. AMEN!

“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”” Mark 11:26 NKJV
