Sometimes, often if the truth be known, words just come pouring out of my heart as I write. Other times, it seems virtually impossible for me to write a single message. Some would call this in worldly terms, “writer’s block.” That is not my experience. I have found those trying times in writing are usually either because in my flesh I am afraid, exhausted, not yielded to the Lord, proud, judgmental, lacking love, distracted, etc. Or, as I have often experienced, the devil is coming at me full force trying to stop a message from pouring forth for the glory of Christ. I had a tough time writing the message below, and I believe the devil was not pleased in the least about this message being written and read by many.
I pray and believe in Jesus’ name that this message will reach every person near and far the Lord wants to reach with it. All, yes, for the glory of Christ, AMEN!
Get in Your Place!
“I am God, Lara,” the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. “Get in your place.”
My place? Yes! Not exalting myself and thinking I know what is best and jumping into situations, circumstances, and people’s lives when it is not the will of the Lord who sits upon HIS throne! But instead humbling myself before the Lord and seeking and following Him who is forever Lord!
That day, I had been thinking about a well-known Christian person about whom every once in a while I found myself disturbed, upset, concerned, frustrated, flustered, fearful, and even a bit bitter. I had a strong feeling something was wrong with his behind-the-scenes conduct, that the public wasn’t aware of it and was perhaps being deceived, and that he had a huge influence and impact on the United States not to mention the whole world but that something just wasn’t right. I have a huge protective nature, am sensitive to people doing bad things and seeming to get away with it, and over and again throughout my adult life have felt responsible for figuring out how to fix the problem and for jumping headlong into it to do just that! With no thought or regard to the Lord and the Bible, mind you!
The Lord stopped my thoughts from going any further. I believe He wanted to remind me that HE IS LORD and that I AM NOT, that HE IS ON THE THRONE and I AM NOT, that HE SEES EVERYTHING GOOD AND BAD THAT GOES ON IN THIS WORLD AND WILL DEAL WITH IT THE WAY HE DESIRES ON HIS TIMETABLE, that HE WILL LET HIS CHILDREN KNOW IF AND WHEN AND HOW HE WANTS US TO GET INVOLVED IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS, and that our job is to YIELD OURSELVES TO HIM and to LOVE AND OBEY HIM in all matters.
Friend, in our pride, which is abominable to the Lord, sometimes we get involved in things the Lord doesn’t call us to get involved in. We need to continually humble ourselves before God almighty and only take on what He gives us and not get involved in what He doesn’t want us to get involved in. We need to get in and stay in our place. Humble, humble, humble before the Lord God almighty! Seeking to love and serve Him with every ounce of our hearts, oh yes!
Is there something you have gotten yourself involved in that perhaps the Lord is telling you through this message that is not His will for you to be involved in? Or something you’re about to get involved in and now realize you haven’t sought and waited on the Lord yet to make sure it’s His will for you to jump in? Seek the Lord in prayer, dig deep and heartily into the Bible, listen for the voice of His Holy Spirit who speaks to His children always in line with the Bible, and follow the Lord forth.
Obey Him – in all matters, at all times, all for His glory, AMEN!
Oh Father, how many of us on this earth who believe in you puff ourselves up in pride at times and meddle in issues and circumstances and in people’s lives going contrary to your will for us because we have not sought you, have not listened for your voice, refuse to obey you, or neglect to seek you at all? Help us, oh Lord, to be faithful in listening for your voice and following you in every area of our lives. Thank you, Lord, AMEN!
“Casting down imaginations [also “thoughts” per Strong’s concordance], and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:5-6
p.s. Friend, I am thankful to say the Lord’s correction resulted in my realization I needed to assume the role of praying for this person and freed up my heart and time to focus on Him, the Bible, and what is His will for my life going forth!
