God’s goodness goes on forever, and God’s goodness is manifested in each and every one of our lives in one fashion, form, or another each and every day of our lives. But how often I wonder do we truly take the time to think of His goodness, to meditate on His goodness, to reflect on His goodness, to contemplate His goodness, to consider His goodness, to praise, thank, and worship Him for His goodness, to tell others of His goodness, and to look back not just at His goodness we experience today but to think about, thank Him for, and tell others about His goodness in the past?
This message came to mind when I was sitting at my little hotel desk in coastal Carolina with the door wide open, my disabled ministry dogs lying on their blankets by the door and fresh air, and had just gotten a dozen chocolate chip bagels to put in the freezer so I could have my usual one a day. I have battled an eating disorder for decades, and for the first time in my adult life I was loving and enjoying food with no desire to lose weight and continue down the path of anorexia and no guilt in eating delicious and yummy food. God set me free! Oh, how He set me free! Yet this is just one zillionth of God’s goodness in my life thus far. His goodness truly is forever, and eternity won’t be enough to thank and praise Him for how unfathomably wonderful, glorious, lovely, magnificent, splendorous, marvelous, amazing, awesome, fabulous, excellent, spectacular, and tremendous He is!
Oh, how quick we are to pray to God for what we want and need. How quick we are to enjoy God’s goodness. How quick we are to want and ask for more of His goodness. But do we spend enough time if there ever truly could be enough to praise, worship, thank, celebrate, and tell others of the Lord God almighty’s goodness? May this message be a reminder to praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord and tell others about God’s goodness, hallelujah, hallelujah praise the Lord, AMEN!
