If I look back at my entire life, the three things that come to mind as my four greatest regrets are that I didn’t know and believe in and follow the Lord Jesus Christ right from the start, that I talked about something from long ago I wish I had forgiven and let go and kept quiet about, that I did not love and honor my parents from childhood on as I should have done no matter their imperfections, and that despite going to exceeding lengths for decades to help rescue dogs I at times lost my patience in a totally unacceptable way and did not love them the way I desperately wanted to do.
God in His amazing remarkable mercy has loved and forgiven me through it all in response to my faith in Him and “godly sorrow (2 Cor. 7:10)” and repentance. How can we ever thank God sufficiently for His love and mercy? I believe we cannot. But I do believe we can show our Thanksgiving to Him and for Him in the way we choose to live our lives – by living totally surrendered to Him and His will each and every day and forevermore! Including crying out for and receiving His mercy when we need it!
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalms 118:1 KJV
