When God’s Will Hurts

0

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” 2 Cor. 1:3-5………………

God’s will doesn’t always feel good. In fact, sometimes it downright hurts. Sometimes it even hurts a whole heck of a lot. I have long since learned that. Sometimes God’s will involves loss, and change, and transition, and saying goodbye, and going through a fiery trial, and facing rejection and hatred in the process of helping someone, and forsaking a dream for Christ’s sake, and on and on. But one thing is true about God’s will ALL THE TIME even when it hurts. God ALWAYS knows what’s best, and it’s ALWAYS best and right to seek and do God’s will no matter what. Even when it hurts. And there’s one thing I’ve also long since learned when it comes to God’s will when it hurts. The Lord will provide all the love, strength, mercy, compassion, direction, wisdom, comfort, and, most importantly, fellowship with Him through faith in Christ Jesus we need in seeking and doing God’s will when His will comes with hurt. So, my friend, seek the Lord. Study His Word. Live led by His Spirit. Seek His will. Do His will. Follow the Lord Jesus Christ. And, when His will hurts, cry out to Him. He will give you everything you need. Most importantly, when your heart and life belong to Christ, He will give you Himself!
