The love, hope, and joy I have this morning come from Jesus and an amazingly rich, abundant, beautiful, strong, loving relationship with Him whereby He is my Lord, Savior, Father, and very best friend. Rest assured I have my struggles. I have plenty of ups and downs. I have my very hard moments and even days. But deep down within me, I have a love, hope, peace, and joy nobody and nothing can take from me. Because I belong to Jesus forever and ever. I am His for eternity. My heart and life belong to Him. I no longer live for me. I live for my Lord. THE LORD! Jesus Christ!
Speaking of LOVE, friend, I can’t wait for you to read the THREE MESSAGES below! I didn’t even realize as I was writing them what powerful and vital theme the Lord was bringing to light in my heart and writing. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Yes, LOVE! His love! And our love!
I would like to ask you a question before you proceed to today’s messages. Where do you stand, friend, when it comes to the Lord Jesus Christ? May this be the very moment as you read this that you decide to give yourself utterly and forever to the Lord with total abandon and entire devotion and a resolve to live and breathe above all else for the glory of Christ, yes!
Please enjoy and be encouraged reading today’s THREE MESSAGES below!
love & blessings,
The Lemon Water Story
Friend, the Lord loves His children more than we can imagine. Right down to the very detail. Here is a beautiful testimony proving just that.
I asked a friend who had gone through a horrible illness with a brutal treatment to pray for another friend of mine whom she didn’t know who was going through a horrible illness and brutal treatment just like my other friend had. I asked her to pray specifically that my friend needing prayer would get her sense of taste and appetite back so she could eat.
“Tell her to drink lemon water,” my friend said after she agreed to pray. Seemed a bit odd, but I called my other friend after I got off the telephone.
“So-and-so told me to tell you to drink lemon water,” I said.
To my utter shock, my friend told me she had been walking through her house saying out loud with her husband present that she wondered if she could drink lemon water. See, she had these little packets of lemon and had thought it would be nice to use them either as a cold drink or a hot drink.
But I hadn’t known my friend had been wondering about lemon water. In fact, she had gone so far as to contact one of her health-care providers to see if it was okay to drink lemon water. She had not yet received a return call. But the Lord knew her need and desire, didn’t He? And He used me to connect two women who didn’t know each other to show His love and care.
I believe my friend was already fixing herself a glass of lemon water before I hung up the telephone. And off I went in ever awe of the Lord’s amazingness, His awesomeness, His lovingkindness, His knowing everything about His children and so tenderly, sweetly showing forth His mercy and grace.
Let us not miss any of the all different sized blessings of the Lord, from the enormous ones to the very small ones. All blessings from above. From the Lord of Lord, King of Kings, God almighty, hallelujah, YES!
Father, we could never thank you enough for all of your greatness and goodness. Thank you for day in and day out giving us opportunities right here on this earth to see how glorious you are! And thank you most of all for loving us so much you sent Jesus to the cross to die and be raised from the dead to pave the way for us to spend forever with you. Through repentance and faith in you. Through our lives being devoted to you, oh Lord! Thank you for desiring us to be in your forever fellowship. No greater place to be than in relationship with you. Oh, how I love you! Teach us to love you the way you desire to be loved! And continue, oh Lord, to make your love known to us all. Draw people all around the world to you, lead them to repentance, bring them into your forever Kingdom. Thank you for your mercy, my Father. Thank you, oh Lord, you are so indescribably wonderful, oh thank you, dear Lord. AMEN!
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:17
Beautiful Smile Courtesy of Jesus
I know a young woman who has such a beautiful smile. Her face lights up when she smiles. I didn’t always see her smile, if the truth be told. She used to be mean to me. Cold. Unkind. Callous. Hurtful. But the Lord did something beautiful that brought that smile to her face, and I am ever in awe of how He brings His love and mercy and Word to life.
The Lord has been teaching me over the years how to love. And what real love looks like. His kind of love. Godly love. Christ’s love. The kind of love that brings about something like this. Instead of hating the young woman who was so mean to me, I chose in the strength of Jesus to love her. And to pray for her. And, when He placed it on my heart, to give her a gift. Yes, you read that right. I decided to do what His Word teaches.
Love whom? Your enemy. Give to whom? Those who hate you. Bless whom? Those who curse you. Pray for whom? Those who use you (use, insult, slander, falsely accuse per Strong’s concordance).
The day I brought her the gift, she was shocked. She resisted at first. Then she received it. And apologized. And so did I for anything I had done wrong along the way. And oh what love. Christ’s love. Ever since? That big beautiful smile. And a heart that Jesus melted. Does she believe in and follow the Lord? I don’t know. But I sure have a true love and care for her now. And sincerely with all my heart desire for her to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ forever.
How beautiful is the Lord’s love, isn’t it? It wasn’t my love that took over that situation, you know. It was His. I simply humbled myself and yielded myself to Jesus and the Bible. The Lord did the rest. So to the Lord be the glory.
And you, friend, is there someone or some people in your life you need to change your attitude and actions regarding? Will you? For Christ’s sake? Please. Do.
Lord God, show us each and every time we have an opportunity to put these verses into practice. Guide us. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, with your love, grace, and mercy. Those of us who follow you as Lord have your Spirit living in us. Fill us again and again and again, continually fill us with more of your Spirit Lord. And cause us to love with your love. No matter how others act toward us. May we act toward them the way you desire. For those reading this who do not yet have a forever relationship with you, lead them to your feet, to your mercy seat, give them the desire to surrender themselves to you utterly. Bring them to repentance, turn them to you, help them to believe in your death and resurrection, Lord, and give them hearts to love and serve you forevermore as they faithfully learn to follow you day by day. Help us all to follow you, dear Father. AMEN!
““But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” Luke 6:27-28
A Message About LOVE
What if the Holy Spirit of God said this to you?
“Walk in my love. Love, love, wherever you are, whatever you are doing, however you feel, whatever you face, whatever is going on, absolutely no matter what, choose to love. Walk in MY love. Not yours. Yours is limited. Walk in mine which goes on forever. This is all.”
These are some of the words He spoke to my heart when I sought Him early one morning. When you believe you hear from the Lord, measure what you hear with the Bible because the Lord will always and only speak in line with His Word. And seek counsel from followers of the Lord who are strongly grounded in God’s Word if and as He leads you to receive help discerning if God has in fact spoken to you. I knew from long-time study of the Bible that the Lord had spoken.
But why would He give me this message for myself? And why am I led to share it with you? Because if we are honest, we can always use more in the way of growing in the love of Christ, of living filled with and led by God’s Holy Spirit, of living according to God’s ways, and specifically of WALKING IN LOVE. Human love is imperfect. It always comes to an end. We love with the limitations of our flesh. But the Lord wants us to WALK IN LOVE – in HIS love. He will give us HIS LOVE that we can use in loving Him and loving others.
What stands out in the message God gave me? How He emphasized NO MATTER WHAT to love. That our love should not be contingent on our feelings nor on the world around us. It should be contingent ON HIM. And, friend, IN CHRIST, when we abide in Him, when we trust in Him, when we rest in Him, when we look to Him, when we spend time with Him, when we seek Him, when we wait on Him, when we hear from Him, when we receive from Him, when we live for Him, we can learn to love the way He desires. Filled with His love, pouring out His love to others, all for the glory of Christ, AMEN!
Dear Father, your love is so magnificent, so amazing, so awesome, so unbelievably wonderful, how can we thank you enough for your love? Forever wouldn’t be enough to thank you for yourself, for a forever relationship with you through Jesus, and for your love and infinite blessings! Thank you, thank you, thank you, dear Father! And thank you despite how hard it can be at times for calling us to love as your greatest commands. To love you with all our hearts and others as ourselves. And thank you for giving us your love by your Holy Spirit to use to love. Thank you for teaching us to love. Please be patient with us as we learn to love your way. Please forgive us when we fall short. Please remind us when we need to do a better job loving. Please bring conviction and correction when we mess love up. Lord, help us to walk in your love. And help us to understand your Bible as we read it when it comes to love and when it comes to all things. Thank you for hearing my prayer, dear Lord, for us all, thank you so much, AMEN!
“Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.” Psalm 25:4-5
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” Ephesians 5:1-2
“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Mt. 32:37-40
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:7-11
“ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:34-35
