TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

Dear friend,

JESUS’ PLANS FOR YOUR LIFE!

A dear friend of mine shared with me one week how opposed she was to leaving the location where she had lived for years to move even 45 minutes away, but within two weeks she was open to the Lord moving her hundreds of miles away and even excited about the prospect.

It reminded me of how close-minded I was for years to the Lord’s will for my life, and how much He has changed me. Now I realize my life belongs to Him, that I need to seek, hear, and obey His will for me, and that I can be excited and thrilled about what plans He has for my future! I need to trust Him! And I need to obey Him! And how thankful I can be as He brings His will to pass!

Are you excited about Jesus’ plans for your life? Are you living your plans or His? Do you seek the Lord regularly concerning His will for you? Are you committed to living for Him and not for yourself?

Jesus Christ is Lord and will reign forevermore! Let us live for the Lord, friend, let us live for Him forevermore!

I encourage you to be excited about Jesus’ plans for your life and to surrender yourself wholly to Him!

“I delight to do Your will, O my God,…” Psalm 40:8

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

I CAN’T DO THIS!

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13

“I will give you all you need to do all I give you to do,” the Lord told me.

Why? He has given me so much to do in that season of my ministry work for Him, and I knew it was impossible – without Him. Without His strength, without His help, His wisdom, His love, His grace, His mercy, His direction, His provision.

Long ago, a loved one told me, “the Lord equips us to do what He calls us to do.”

If there is something to which the Lord has called you, friend, He will give you what you need to accomplish whatever it is. Don’t try to do it in your human weakness. Turn to the Lord and do it in His strength.

DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT

I WON’T GO THERE!

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23

“I won’t go there,” I told the Lord one day as I daydreamed once again about somewhere I thought would be a wonderful location in my travels on the road for Jesus around the United States for my ministry work. “Unless that’s where you want me to go,” I essentially said.

Unbelievable change! For years, I called Jesus Christ Lord but lived for me. My life was about what I wanted, where I wanted to be, with whom I wanted to be, what I wanted to be doing, how I wanted to live, etc. The Lord has since taught me at the core of genuinely following Jesus is a lifestyle of love, humility, and obedience.

I no longer want to live according to my flesh. I want to live according to the Holy Spirit. Following Jesus involves sacrifice and denial of self. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. But oh, the joy of being in Jesus’ intimate fellowship forever and of being pleasing and honoring to the Lord!

I no longer choose where I want to be. I let the Lord do the choosing. He is Lord! We who follow Jesus aren’t to follow the flesh. We are to follow Him!

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book I wrote that is available in print by contacting me at 843-338-2219 or via lara@GoodNews.love.  BLESSING 246

“The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord,
And the poor among men shall rejoice
In the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 29:19

I know a beautiful woman of God who told me she wakes in the morning feeling poor and needy. She sounded like she felt bad about herself to be this way in the morning. But oh, what a blessing for her to be this way. For any of us to be this way. But why, you may wonder. Please see the verse above. Who is blessed according to this verse? Who INCREASES his or her JOY? THE HUMBLE. Who REJOICES? The one who is poor. Strong’s concordance shows the Hebrew word translated into “poor” also means “needy”. Just like my friend! Humble. Poor. Needy.

Why humble? She knows her need. She knows her poverty. Not physical poverty necessarily, though she may or may not be financially poor. But she wakes in the morning in want. In need. And she knows it. When we acknowledge our neediness, when we take our neediness to Christ, we are filled with ever more of Him! And with the joy and rejoicing that come with knowing Jesus more and more personally, more and more deeply, deeply and forever, friend, forevermore!

May we humble ourselves and receive the BLESSING of acknowledging we are NOTHING without Christ. And may we come to Him to be filled with ever more of His Spirit, Amen! Oh, such joy! The joy of Jesus! Of more of Him by His Spirit in and through us, AMEN!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

DON’T GO UNTIL YOU KNOW!

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans 8:14

A man I met in my streets ministry work in New York City asked me, “How do you know where to go for your next location?”

I had told Him I have been on the road for Jesus for several years now traveling from one location to the next. He seemed intrigued.

“I pray and pray and pray,” I basically said. “And people around the world pray for me also.”

“The Lord makes clear where He wants me to go next,” I explained. “And I just know that I know that I know when He does,” I essentially said.

One critical thing I’ve learned is this. Not to go until I know. Until I know HIS WILL – and HIS TIMING. Because being on the road for Jesus isn’t about me. It’s about Him.

You may not be on the road for Jesus doing ministry work, friend, but the same is true for all of us when it comes to following Jesus day by day. We are to submit to the Lord, to seek the Lord, to hear the Lord, and to follow the Lord. His Holy Spirit in response to our prayers will let us know WHERE and WHEN to go next in life. Our job is to lovingly, reverently follow His lead!
