Good News Daily – New Year’s Day

0

Dear friend,

People all around the world today with the start of this new year are looking for a reason to hope and hoping with all their hearts this year will be better than the last. I searched for hope for decades due to being broken beyond human hope and repair and given my life’s circumstances and at long last found THE ONLY HOPE that is 100% guaranteed, NEVER FAILS, and LASTS FOREVER! The Lord Jesus Christ – and a forever relationship with Him.

I have more HOPE today than I have ever had in my life, but my hope is NOT in this world in which hope is contingent on how things are going, whether good or bad, how our lives are, whether easy or challenging, how we feel about what’s happening in the world, whether we have what and whom we want, what happens or doesn’t happen, what’s going on in the news or isn’t, etc. MY HOPE IS IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THE PROMISE OF BEING IN HIS FOREVER FELLOWSHIP. JESUS is my forever HOPE! Regardless of what does or does not happen on this earth, I BELONG TO JESUS FOREVER AND EVER! I will be with Him forevermore! There is no greater HOPE – and no EVERLASTING HOPE – except JESUS and belonging to Him forever!

If you need help beginning an everlasting relationship with God, in ensuring you will spend forever with Him instead of eternity in hell and the lake of fire away from Him, continuing on in the relationship with Him you have already begun, need love, help, hope, encouragement, & inspiration in finding and forever faithfully following the Lord, please visit my website at Good News Ministry or contact me at lara@GoodNews.love or 843-338-2219. I would be blessed, honored, and privileged beyond measure to have the opportunity to help in any way the Lord so leads me!

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” 1 Peter 3:15

Please find below today’s TWO MESSAGES! May you be blessed, challenged, encouraged, and inspired!

My Big LOVE Prayer!

I sat down on the edge of my hotel bed which is half filled with Bibles, highlighters, pens, notebooks, paralyzed ministry doggy Miss Mercy’s diaper station, pillows, blankets – and, oh, yes, some empty space for me! Then I prayed. A really big prayer. In very few words.

“Help me to love,” I prayed.

Such a very simple prayer. But when I think about it now, I realize how unfathomably vital it is. Because of this.

God’s TWO GREATEST COMMANDS are these. To LOVE Him with all our hearts and to LOVE others as ourselves.

“He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?” So he answered and said, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND,’ and ‘YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'”” Luke 10:26-27

The ONLY way we can have a relationship with God from whom we’re separated because of our sins is through turning from a lifestyle of sin, believing Jesus Christ is Lord and that He died on the cross to pay our sin punishment of death, hell, and the lake of fire and was raised from the dead, and sincerely turning to God and His ways. We are forgiven, “born again” spiritually, given eternal life with Him instead of hell and the lake of fire, and NOW WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO LIVE THE RIGHT WAY! FOR JESUS! ACCORDING TO GOD’S WAYS!

Where does this new way of life to which we are called begin? WITH JESUS! WITH LOVE! His love for us, our love for Him, and our love through Him for others!

I have prayed countless prayers over the years. I have prayed long prayers. I have prayed all sorts of prayers. I have prayed for this or that and a zillion different things. I have prayed for others. For the world. For strangers. For me. For family. For friends. For Christ’s followers. For people who don’t believe in Him. On and on my prayers have gone and continue. This time, I prayed such a short prayer, but one whose significance is more important than imaginable.

God SO LOVED US He gave us His only Son Jesus to die on the cross and be raised from the dead for us to take ALL HIS WRATH AT US FOR OUR SINS and the PENALTY WE DESERVE ON HIMSELF to give us the only way we can have a relationship with God almighty now and forever. Through Jesus. HIS LOVE is the starting place! And it is now our job to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Help US to love!” I pray now as I write this.

Please, friend, obey God’s greatest commands. LOVE HIM WITH EVERY OUNCE OF YOUR HEART. And THROUGH HIM, LOVE OTHERS AS YOURSELF. And pray to God if you are so led that HE WILL HELP YOU TO LOVE! Amen!

“Love never fails…” 1 Corinthians 13:8

Devil Attacked My Friendship!

In the devil’s merciless mission to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), one thing he loves to do is to attack people’s relationships with the Lord most of all and also to attack people’s relationships with one another. Stands to reason. After all, God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and others as ourselves (Luke 10:26-27). The devil attacks our relationships with God and with others vehemently, vengefully, viciously, and vigilantly. Which is exactly what he did for the umpteenth time one day when I was on the telephone with a beautiful and beloved sister in the Lord.

I can’t wait to tell you what happened. Because this time around, unlike so many times in the past when I have had struggles with relationships and we allowed the devil through our flesh to wreak havoc on us as individuals and in our relationships with one another, the devil lost and God’s loving will prevailed!

When I shared a concern with my friend about something she told me, she immediately snapped at me brusquely and hurtfully. If you don’t know me well, I am sensitive and always have been. I burst into tears. Then something beautiful happened. I told my friend what she had done. She immediately apologized. I immediately forgave. I got off the phone quickly because I felt I needed some alone time. In the next 24 hours, it was clear our friendship was stronger not weaker!

Let me take you deeper with all this. And please consider your own relationships whether with people close to you, not so close, and even strangers. With anyone at all. The devil loves to get us upset, hurt, bitter, resentful, vengeful, angry, rageful, prideful, arrogant, self-pitying, judgmental, condemning, merciless, unforgiving, unloving, and anything else for that matter that is ungodly.

When we live in the flesh and not according to God’s Spirit and the godliness to which He calls us, we are wide open prey to the devil’s attacks both as individuals and in our relationships.

Please read these verses and then continue on as I share with you the rest of this wonderful testimony!

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 5:14-18

By God’s grace alone, and I truly give Him ALL THE GLORY, my friend and I chose God’s way of love, grace, mercy, kindness, patience, and forgiveness – instead of the way of the self-centered, self-loving, self-pleasing, self-seeking, selfish flesh. Choosing the way of Christ protected us from the devil’s attempts to harm our relationship. And the Lord so lovingly and mercifully protected us!

Friend, is this message for you? Are there relationships in your life that need healing? Mending? Needing love and forgiveness? Grace and mercy? Kindness and patience? Tender love? The way of Christ? We can’t make others do what is right in the sight of Jesus, but we can make sure we ourselves do God’s will in our relationships with others. And we can pray they will do the same and be humble examples to them in how we ourselves think, speak, and act according to the leading of the Holy Spirit and in the precious love of Jesus!

Please follow Jesus in every area of your life – relationships with others included! AMEN!
