LARA’S LATEST UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST……..

Dear friend,

Two days ago I had to take the subway to pick up special medication for paralyzed doggy Mr. Simeon and found the perfect opportunity on the way, at the business where I picked up the medication, and on the way back to hand out my Gospel tracts and to leave them in various places like a subway seat, on benches in the subway system, etc.

Then yesterday morning I walked the wheelchair doggies almost a mile to the vet’s office and handed out tracts to a few people in the waiting room and then right outside the vet’s office when I left and people came up to me to meet the dogs.

In the afternoon, I took a long walk and handed out tracts along the way and had a few opportunities to talk to people about my favorite subject. Jesus!

Last night, I handed out some tracts in a coffee shop I stopped in because a friend I was with needed to use the restroom. Opportunity after opportunity!

Oh, what joy I have telling the world about Jesus – even when my mouth is closed but I get to tell people through my writing! Whatever opportunity I have to help people find and forever follow the Lord Jesus Christ, whether face to face, on the telephone, via email, via my website, or through my writing, how exceedingly thankful I am!

Perhaps the following prayer request from the apostle Paul in the Bible might lead you in how to pray for me! Open hearts, open doors, oh how I long for more and more opportunities to proclaim Christ as Lord to this world in dire need of Him!

“meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,” Colossians 4:3

TODAY’S LITTLE LETTER FROM LARA

Dear friend,

The Lord told me long ago just because I have distractions in my life doesn’t mean I need to be distracted.

I want to encourage you in this world which is so filled with distractions to take this message to heart. Our first love and greatest priority needs to be the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible, and anything and everything we do in life should bring Him love, praise, honor, service, reverence, and glory. All ungodliness we must turn away from. And even good, positive things we must turn away from if they distract us from God’s will for us. Distractions exist, but we need to say no to distractions!

We can’t put an end to all the distractions in this life, BUT WE CAN CHOOSE NOT TO BE DISTRACTED BY THEM. The Lord will give us the ability and strength to say no to the distractions and temptations so we can focus on Him and His will for us.

Only the Lord knew as I wrote this that just hours later a beloved sister in the Lord would encourage me to watch out for something I tend to be very distracted by.

We all need the reminder, don’t we? Let’s watch out for anything or anyone that distracts us from the Lord Jesus Christ and His will for our lives.

I most assuredly don’t do this perfectly, but am so thankful for the Lord’s will, His leading by His Holy Spirit who lives inside His followers, His patience with me as I grow, and His forgiveness along the way.

“looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,…” Hebrews 12:2

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATION

REACH UPWARD AND OUTWARD

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Mt. 22:37-40
Need help? Need support? Struggling with something? Feeling alone? Needing wisdom? Direction? A listening ear? Encouragement? Need love? Someone to talk to? Friend, reach upward – to the Lord. Reach outward – to His faithful followers who are strongly grounded in the Bible and can help you follow Him day by day.

We weren’t created to be all alone. We were created for forever fellowship with God almighty through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our lives devoted to Him and for loving fellowship with others. God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves.

Not only are we to give this love, but we are to receive it! So let’s reach upward and outward and enjoy the blessings of fellowship with Jesus and His followers. AMEN!

TODAY’S 365 BLESSINGS

365 BLESSINGS is a devotional book I wrote that is available in print by contacting me at 843-338-2219 or via lara@GoodNews.love.

Blessings 200-207

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-19

Blessings? More and more blessings, yes! Look at just some of them in these verses in which the apostle Paul is praying for the Ephesians:

•             We can bow our knees in love for and in faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
•             We can pray to Father God in heaven through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have access to the Father through Christ – access we would not otherwise have!
•             The family of Christ – believers in Jesus as Lord – are family IN HIS NAME, yes, in the name of Christ who is forever Lord!
•             The Lord grants us answers to prayers when they are in accordance with His will!
•             “The riches of His glory” are beyond anything in beauty and splendor and love than we can possibly imagine!
•             The Lord can strengthen those of us who follow Him through His Holy Spirit right deep down inside us because He lives there!
•             As incomprehensible as it seems because His love is so immeasurable and beyond our wildest dreams, He can help us to understand and to know His love! And, over time, as we chase after Him and cleave to Him and to His Word, we can have and know and experience and enjoy and be thankful for more and more of His wondrous love!
•             We can be filled with God’s fullness by His Spirit! Yes, God’s very fullness!
And, oh, these are just some of the amazing, amazing blessings we receive through Christ when we repent and surrender ourselves to Him as Lord!

TODAY’S THE CROSS DEVOTIONAL

SEEK THE LORD

“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

A beautiful young woman who is a new follower of Jesus blew me away one day when she encouraged me with some awesome wisdom from above.

I had recently written about the scripture above in the context of the Lord truly caring about us even if when we look at our life’s circumstances we might foolishly and falsely believe He does not truly care. Oh, how He does!

The Lord used my sweet young friend to inject some a fresh dose of faith into me when she basically said this:

“He tells us to cast ALL of our cares upon Him!”

Not some, friend. ALL. A word I hadn’t at least of late paid attention to.

The Lord cares about us, absolutely, and He doesn’t desire us to cast just some of our cares and concerns and troubles and struggles upon Him. He wants us to cast it ALL on Him because He cares for us more than we can possibly imagine and because He is the one we need and must surrender ourselves utterly to as LORD. Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Savior of the world, Father, master, teacher, healer, redeemer, Good Shepherd, Great Shepherd, Lord of all, God almighty, YES!

TODAY’S SERVING JESUS IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE

SEEK THE LORD!

“Seek the Lord and His strengthSeek His face evermore!” Psalm 105:4

“When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”” Psalm 27:8

One of the most vitally important aspects of serving the Lord in our everyday lives I see throughout the Bible and have discovered in my own ministry work is SEEKING THE LORD.

We need to seek His presence, we need to seek His Word, we need to seek His heart and will for us, we need to seek His timing, we need to seek His plans and purpose, we need to seek His love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, comfort, etc., we need to seek Him, and we need to seek to be filled with fresh fillings of His Holy Spirit.

So many times, I have jumped into my ministry work in the flesh exerting my will using my human strength (i.e. weakness!) and neglected to seek the Lord so I can be filled with and led by His Spirit according to His will in His time in His strength for HIS GLORY!

I have learned and committed to seek the Lord daily in the morning with my heart and Bible wide open, to listen for His voice speaking to my heart in line with His Word, to seek Him throughout the day and night, and to seek Him as I press on in my ministry work. To seek Him, to obey Him, to follow Him! Oh, yes, I am learning this!

If we serve Jesus without seeking Jesus, are we not missing the point? Serving Jesus must be about Jesus through Jesus in the love, mercy, grace, and strength of Jesus for the glory of Jesus, AMEN!

Please seek the Lord! Daily. Diligently Devotedly. Seek the Lord and His Word! Seek His will! Seek His timing! Seek His Spirit! Seek His strength! Seek all you need from the Lord! Seek Him and live to glorify Him, hallelujah! Oh, yes!
