Good News Daily – Tues Aug 4

0

Dear friend,

Some of you may know the messages I send out in my Good News Daily are from the books I write as I am writing them before they are published and available in book form! The Lord has blessed me with being an extremely prolific writer. In other words, I write TONS. He pours messages in and through me so often and in such abundance I often have trouble keeping up! All of this to say the messages I will be sharing with you for the next week or so are from the book I just finished writing which I will be working on to prepare for publication. In the meantime, yes, by His grace alone for His glory alone, I have already started my next book.

Please enjoy and be challenged and encouraged reading today’s FIVE MESSAGES.

the titles are:

* WHEN YOU DON’T LIKE SOMETHING
* WARNING: DON’T FORSAKE CHRIST
* MY CHILDHOOD STORY
* GOD’S PATIENCE
* A WARNING TO THE WEALTHY

love & blessings,

When You Don’t Like Something

“I don’t like [such and such],” I commented to the Lord. He had given me to the best of my ability to discern at the time a title for a book He wanted me to write.

“Did I ask you if you like it?” the Spirit of God said.

“No,” I replied.

“Do as I say,” He told me. Firmly.

The Lord calls us to forsake all for Him, and we need to let go of any and all of our wishes, wants, and ways when they don’t line up with His will and ways. We need to die to self to live for Him.

“My servants must obey,” His Spirit continued. “Obey.”

How despicably prideful I was to tell the Lord God almighty I didn’t like what I believed to be His will. As though He should take into account my feelings and what I wanted and alter His will to please me!

Friend, let us humble ourselves before the Lord and seek and follow His will for us without pride, resistance, and rebellion but instead with submissive hearts filled with love, humility, reverence, and thanksgiving.

The cost to our flesh of forsaking our wishes, wants, and ways for the Lord when they don’t line up with His will for us is nothing compared with the awesomeness of being in His forever fellowship and drawing ever closer to Him. Not to mention enjoying the privilege and pleasure of living to love, please, adore, praise, serve, worship, obey, and glorify the Lord! Amen!

Lord, so very sadly, I was someone long ago who was willing to give up NOTHING for you. I was under false teaching, Father, as you well know. I thought you were up there in the sky to love and serve me! How despicable was my wrong thinking only continuously exacerbated by the teaching I was under. Now I understand you created us to love and worship and serve and glorify and experience and enjoy and please and honor and praise and follow YOU! Lord, give us the willingness, desire, strength, and love to forsake all for you – right down to any particular want if it doesn’t bring you joy and pleasure for us to hold onto it. AMEN!

“So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:33

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” Romans 8:5-9

Warning: Don’t Forsake Christ!

The Lord God almighty calls us to forsake all for Him. Not to forsake Him for the world. My beloved pastor who went to be with the Lord used to say, “We have to get the Word [the Bible]into us and the world out of us.” In essence, we need to get the world’s ways out of us and the Lord’s ways into us! We are to forsake the world’s ways and to live according to God’s ways instead.

We are not to live for self. We are to live for Christ. We are not to live to please ourselves. We are to live to please almighty God. We are not to turn our backs on Jesus to live a self-centered life of striving to bring ourselves praise, honor, pleasure, and glory. We are to turn our backs on the wickedness of this world and humble ourselves and live a Christ-centered life always striving to bring the Lord love, honor, praise, pleasure, and glory!

Don’t forsake the Lord Jesus Christ and His ways to store up earthly pleasure and treasures that will one day all be gone. Forsake whatever in your life does not bring glory to the Lord and live each and every day for the glory of Christ!

“”Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:3-11

My Childhood Story

I have loved writing to an exceeding degree since I was a little girl, wrote many shorts stories and much poetry as a child, and to this day remember a short story I began decades ago and never finished. Sometimes my heart yearns to finish that story as I still remember the main character and the plot and adored fiction writing. But something has changed, and whether or not I finish that story is contingent on that change.

As much as I adored writing fiction and longed for years for it to be my life’s calling and to write novels and see my books in bookstores and have countless readers, the change came along. His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. And though I believed in Him as Lord but held much of my heart and life back from Him for quite some time, I ultimately repented for this and gave Him all. Including my writing and future as far as my life’s calling and absolutely everything is concerned,

Jesus is my first love, I live and breathe to love, honor, adore, serve, worship, praise, and glorify Him and to tell the world about Him, and I will only write fiction again if it is His will for His glory. Everything in my life is His, and I live totally devoted to Him.

I knew little about Jesus all those decades ago, did not believe in Him as Lord, and lived for myself according to the world’s ways my writing included. I would love to write that childhood story now in the context of using fiction to tell the world about Him, but right now He has called me to write non-fiction and I gladly sacrifice my own longing in obedience to Him to express to Him my love for and devotion to Him beyond measure.

Please, friend, give your whole heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ, make any and all sacrifices He asks you to make, and live wholly and humbly to bring the Lord honor, praise, pleasure, joy, adoration, and glory now and forever and ever, AMEN!

Oh God, never in a million years would I have imagined as a child writing up a storm that I would become your daughter, your servant, and your follower. And that all in my life my very life included would be yours. And that you would give the gift of writing you have given me a purpose – for you! And for others! Oh, Lord, what an honor to be called to love and follow you forever! Please dear Lord use this message to light a fire of love for you in those who read this. Please use the message to bring to each reader a passion and zeal beyond measure to live henceforth for you and no longer for themselves. Help them to use the gifts you have given them for your glory, oh Lord, AMEN!

“I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.” Psalm 86:12

“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

God’s Patience

Do you struggle with patience as I do? When I consider the fruit of the Spirit the Lord calls us to bear, I see how I am strong in some areas and needing much more work in others. Like with patience. Patience just doesn’t come easy to me. Does it come easy to you? It’s not so fun to be patient, is it? It can be pretty challenging with certain matters and particular people, don’t you think? Maybe even seemingly impossible sometimes! But this message isn’t about our need for patience. It’s about something I believe many of us myself included may take for granted. The Lord’s amazing, amazing, absolutely stunningly amazing patience with us!

In the King James version of the Bible, “longsuffering” is used instead of the word patience. Certainly for us humans, we may experience some “suffering” in having to be patient. But can you even fathom the “longsuffering” of the Lord God almighty in dealing with all of humanity? Oh my goodness! Below please find some verses concerning the Lord’s longsuffering.

Perhaps you may be led to meditate on this matter. On the absolute awesomeness of God when it comes to His patience. Perhaps you may be led, too, to meditate on His breathtakingly beautiful character as well. For He is not only longsuffering as though that in itself isn’t fantastic enough. But He is loving, merciful, generous, giving, kind, tender, powerful, wise, bestowing grace upon us, ever sacrificing, meek, yes, humble, and on and on His stunningly beautiful character goes.

Even as He is longsuffering, He is all of this. Is He angry at times? Yes! Does He have indescribable wrath? Yes! Does He give unbelievably hard consequences to those who rebel against Him and refuse to repent? Yes! But still, He is so very, very loving. And He desires that all will turn from our sins, believe in Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection, and surrender all to Him. For He does not desire that the very people He created suffer the consequences of sin and end up ultimately in hell and the lake of fire in forever torment away from Him. He desires that we all humble ourselves before Him and give ourselves utterly over to Him once and for all and forevermore!

Consider the longsuffering of the Lord! Oh, how amazing is the Lord! Amen!

Father, your patience with me through the years is utterly astounding. If I consider how many people worldwide you have shown longsuffering toward as you have toward me, there are not words to describe the awesomeness of your loving patience. Oh, God, please before it’s too late, turn people to you! Lead people everywhere to repentance! Don’t give up on humanity and this world yet, oh Lord!

Have mercy upon us! Be longsuffering with us, yes! Please draw people to yourself and save, save, save people near and far and everywhere! I know not all will repent and turn to you. I know many will go to hell and the lake of fire forever. But there are still people on this earth who will turn to you. So turn them, turn them, turn them to you and forgive and bring them by your grace and through their faith into your forever and ever Kingdom!

Thank you for your longsuffering! And for those of us who are following you, we still all need work. We still stumble and fall. We still have areas of our lives that need so much work! And our hearts also! Oh, God, be longsuffering with us and change us, grow us, refine us, purify us, fill us again and again and more and more with your Spirit and use us for your glory and send us out everywhere to spread the Good News message and bring glory to your name and help more and more people to faithfully follow you, oh Lord God, yes! AMEN!

“But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” Psalm 86:15

“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:4

“What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?” Romans 9:22-24

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

A Warning to the Wealthy

I have a warning for the wealthy. But it is not my warning. It is the Lord’s. A number of times in the Bible, the Lord issues warnings to those with earthly riches. Warnings about what happens when we get caught up in material wealth and become consumed with money and possessions and are lovers of money and pleasure more than lovers of Jesus. We can find ourselves seduced by money and stuff and entrapped in consumerism, materialism, and commercialism. In bondage to wealth. Yes, enslaved to matters of money. Greedy, lusting after fleeting pleasures and worldly treasures. All ephemeral. Short-lived. All of it will one day be gone. We are to live for the Lord according to His will for our lives not for self and for money to satisfy the material lusts of our flesh.

Please go before the Lord, seek Him, seek His will for you, ask Him if there is anything in your life concerning money and possessions etc. that He wants you to let go, turn away from, handle differently, give away, reduce, use differently, etc. And obey Him no matter what He speaks to your heart. Please read the following verses and see how He might use them to speak to your heart. And consider reading Revelation chapter 18 in the Bible which to me is an amazingly eye-opening and heart-wrenching part of the Bible that brings to light the awfulness of what will happen to those caught up in money and materialism instead of in Christ!

Lord, the temptation to lust after money and possessions and pleasure in this life seems never ending, and the actual temptations seem like they are becoming more and more and more. But you are bigger and greater and more-powerful than it all, and you can turn us away from it all and turn us to you. Lord, I thank you for setting me free from being materialistic and for showing me a simple life with my focus on you and your will for me is so indescribably better, more rewarding, and yes, richer. So very rich, so very abundant, so very wonderful and pleasurable and satisfying it is, Lord, to be caught up in you rather than in the fleeting pleasures of this life. Please God, set free any and all readers from lusting after money and pleasure and material stuff and anything at all you want them free from. Draw us all closer and closer to yourself. Thank you, Lord, AMEN!

“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:17-19

“And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”” Luke 18:24-27

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3:1-5

“Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.” James 1:9-11

“Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19
