God desires His children to love and glorify Him, He tells us we glorify Him by “bearing much fruit,” He tells us we bear fruit when we abide in Him, He lets us know we bear fruit of His Holy Spirit who lives inside His followers, and He makes clear different kinds of fruit He wants us to bear. You might be quick to think of the fruit of God’s Spirit often preached about which includes “love, joy, peace,” etc. (Galatians 5:22-23), but there is another kind of fruit that brings great pleasure to God and which we should produce on an ongoing basis that we might not even think of as fruit until we look closely at scriptures.
This, friend, is the fruit “of our lips”. Please let me explain. Got fruit? Fruit of your lips? Please read this verse.
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Hebrews 13:15
Praise is fruit that glorifies God!
Does praise glorify God?
“Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;…” Psalm 50:23
Are we to bear fruit to glorify God?
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:8
If you’re anything like I am, you’re quick to think of glorifying God in terms of DOING lots of things for the Lord as He so leads you. But let us not forget PRAISE GLORIFIES GOD. So may we “BEAR MUCH FRUIT” in praising the Lord day in and day out and forevermore, AMEN!
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4
Believe in Jesus. Follow Jesus. Live for Jesus. Trust in Jesus. Rest in Jesus. Love Jesus. Obey Jesus. Oh, abide in the Lord and bear much fruit – including praising, praising, PRAISING THE LORD, oh hallelujah, oh yes! AMEN!
