I have yet to know a person who has not in some way stopped God from moving through his or her life to birth a dream of His. I have yet to cross paths with someone who has not at some level prevented God’s plan from being created through his or her life. Certainly, we have all fallen short of God’s glory. We have all messed up along the way. But who am I to point a finger at a woman who has had an abortion while I have heaved myself up on my own fleshly operating table and thwarted God’s perfect will in my life with my own disobedience? Please do not get me wrong. I am not here to debate about the abortion of a baby the Lord has created. But I am here to ask you this question. What about what God has desired to birth through you? Why did you stop Him from moving? Why did you not follow His dream for you? Why did you not follow His instructions? Why did you not trust Him when He gave you an assignment? Why did you believe God would not hold you accountable for the abortion of God’s will in your life? There is only one answer, in my experience. Repentance. For each time I have missed the mark in pursuing God’s best, for each time I have fallen short of following Him, for each time I have neglected to trust Him and do what He has asked, through faith in Jesus Christ I can seek and receive His forgiveness. It is not my job to behold the speck in the eye of a woman who has had an abortion. It is my job to yank the mass out of my own eye through repentance that I might have a heart full of love to minister God’s love and mercy to His creation in need.
Is there a plan God desires to birth through your life? A purpose? A dream? A vision? Has He given you directions? An assignment? Do you study His Word and follow His footsteps? Have you in any way aborted or thwarted what He dreams to do through you? Repent. For His Kingdom truly is at hand. If you are still on earth, it is not too late to know His love and forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ. Nor is it too late to get a free ticket to heaven through this faith. And, my friend, when He sets you free through forgiveness, consider this. The next time you have an opportunity to give birth to His perfect will through your life, with His tender loving mercy you have the chance to conceive, and birth, the desires of His heart.
