For years I told people I believed in and loved the Lord but only in retrospect did I come to see my love for Him was emotional and passionate but lacked depth, sincerity, maturity, and a vital aspect of expression. See, the Lord Jesus Christ makes plain in the Bible those who sincerely love Him live in obedience to Him.
If you and I really love Jesus, we will live in obedience to Him. Will we do this perfectly? No, but our heart’s cry will be to love, honor, serve, praise, worship, obey, and glorify God with all our hearts and to repent when the Lord shows us we have done wrong.
I encourage you to spend time daily in the presence of God almighty, praying, praising, and worshiping Him, reading the Bible, hearing Him, repenting as needed, being transformed by His Holy Spirit, and learning how to live according to His ways. In other words, learning how to obey Him in your love for Him.
Blessedly, I now have a deeply, wonderfully intimate relationship with the Lord, commune with Him day and night, and am ever learning how to walk in His ways and to express my love for Him not only in praise and thanksgiving but also in what is now a life of obedience to Him.
May the same be true for us all. May the Lord be loved, cherished, adored, honored, praised, worshiped, served, obeyed, and glorified forevermore, AMEN!
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”” John 14:21 NKJV
Please consider these words addressed to the children of Israel in the Old Testament.
May all of us express our love for the Lord in our obedience to Him and cling to Him and to the Bible for dear life!
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV
